Alison Murray (director)
Alison Murray is a Canadian director of films, documentaries and music videos. She is well-known for writing and directing '' Mouth to Mouth'' (2005) starring Elliot Page, and documentaries such as ''Carny'' (2008) and ''Train on the Brain'' (2000). Early life Murray was born in Nova Scotia, Canada and ran away to London when she was 15. She studied theatre writing, dance and choreography before completing a M.A. in Film Direction at the Royal College of Art (1995). Career Murray has been making short films since ''Kissy Suzuki Suck'' (1992), with commissions for BBC television as well as European broadcasts and an international tour compiled by the Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris. Mouth To Mouth (2005 British Film)
''Mouth to Mouth'' is a 2005 drama starring Elliot Page. The first feature film written and directed by Canadian-born Alison Murray, it won the Grand Chameleon award at the 2005 Brooklyn International Film Festival. It was shot on location in England, France, Germany and Portugal. Plot Sherry ( Elliot Page), a disillusioned American teen living on the streets of Europe, happens across the street collective S*P*A*R*K (Street People Armed with Radical Knowledge), led by Harry (Eric Thal) and immediately follows suit, joining their caravan of orphans, runaways, deadbeats, and punks on a journey around Europe, recruiting new fragile souls. World Tango Dance Tournament
The World tango dance tournament (in Spanish: ''Campeonato Mundial de Baile de Tango'', also known as ''Mundial de Tango'') is an annual competition of Argentine Tango, held in Buenos Aires, Argentina, usually in August, as part of the Buenos Aires Tango Festival organized by the city's government. In 2014 the events were between 13-26/August. Brooklyn International Film Festival
The Brooklyn Film Festival (BFF), prior to 2011 called the Brooklyn International Film Festival (BiFF) is an independent film festival held every June in Brooklyn, New York. Started by Marco Ursino, Susan Mackell, Abe Schrager, and Mario Pegoraro in 1998, its mission is to “discover, expose, and promote independent filmmakers while drawing worldwide attention to Brooklyn as a center for cinema." Its base is South 4th Street, Williamsburg. The festival is organized by the Brooklyn Film Society, a 501 (c)(3) tax-exempt non-profit organization.
