Alison Hersey Risch
Alison Hersey Risch (born October 23, 1936), formerly Alison Hersey, is a former American field hockey, lacrosse player and official. She was a three sport athlete (Field Hockey, Basketball and Softball) at Winchester High School in Winchester, Massachusetts. Alison attended Mount Holyoke College from 1955 to 1959. She played with the US Field Hockey Touring team from 1956 to 1969. Alison also played on the U.S. Women's National Lacrosse Team from 1961 to 1970 and as team captain from 1964 to 1970. After graduating from Mount Holyoke, Alison earned a master's degree from Tufts University. She later served as a field hockey coach at Kennett High School in Conway, New Hampshire. She also served as a match coordinator and internationally rated umpire for more than 40 years. Alison also was a competitive alpine ski racer. Kennett High School (New Hampshire)
Kennett High School is a high school in North Conway, New Hampshire, near the village of Redstone. The present school building opened in 2007, replacing the former A. Crosby Kennett High School (built in 1923) located at 176 Main Street in Conway, which is now a middle school. Kennett High School serves the towns of Conway, Albany, Bartlett, Eaton, Freedom, Hart's Location, Jackson, Madison, and Tamworth. The National Lacrosse Hall of Fame and Museum, is located in Sparks, Maryland at the USA Lacrosse headquarters. Prior to moving to its present location in 2016, the hall of fame and museum was located in Baltimore, Maryland, on the Homewood campus of Johns Hopkins University. Conway, New Hampshire
Conway is a town in Carroll County, New Hampshire, United States. It is the most populous community in the county, with a population of 9,822 at the 2020 census, down from 10,115 at the 2010 census. Field Hockey
Field hockey is a team sport structured in standard hockey format, in which each team plays with ten outfield players and a goalkeeper. Teams must drive a round hockey ball by hitting it with a hockey stick towards the rival team's shooting circle and then into the goal. The match is won by the team that scores the most goals. Matches are played on grass, watered turf, artificial turf, synthetic field, or indoor boarded surface. The stick is made of wood, carbon fibre, fibreglass, or a combination of carbon fibre and fibreglass in different quantities. The stick has two sides; one rounded and one flat; only the flat face of the stick is allowed to progress the ball. During play, goalkeepers are the only players allowed to touch the ball with any part of their body. A player's hand is considered part of the stick if holding the stick. The United States women's national lacrosse team represents the United States in the World Lacrosse World Cup championships held every four years.
