Aline Claire Allard
Aline Claire Allard (December 25, 1912 – September 7, 1977) was a French Laotian diplomat and public figure. She was married to the prominent Laotian politician Souvanna Phouma from 1933 until their divorce in 1969, and she is thought to have been a major influence during his years as prime minister. Early life, education, and career Aline Claire Allard was born in Xiangkhouang, Laos, in 1912. Her father was Numa Prosper Allard, a French civil servant who served as the president of Laos' chamber of commerce and agriculture. Her mother was Laotian. She traveled to study in Hanoi and subsequently in Paris. There, she attended the École normale supérieure de Fontenay-aux-Roses. After graduating, she began working in diplomacy, starting in Geneva at the Palace of Nations. From 1957 to 1959, she worked as an advisor to the Assembly of the French Union, and she also led Laotian delegations to various United Nations bodies throughout her career. Souvanna Phouma
Prince Souvanna Phouma (; 7 October 1901 – 10 January 1984) was the leader of the neutralist faction and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Laos several times (1951–1954, 1956–1958, 1960, and 1962–1975). Early life Souvanna Phouma was the son of Bounkhong, the last vice-king of Luang Prabang and a nephew of King Sisavang Vong of Laos, given a French education in Hanoi, Paris and Grenoble, where he obtained his degree in architecture and engineering. He returned to his homeland in 1931, married Aline Claire Allard, the daughter of a French father and a Lao mother, and entered the Public Works Service of French Indochina. Mangkra Souvanna Phouma
Prince Mangkra Souvanna Phouma of the Kingdom of Laos (born 1938) is the son of Prince Souvanna Phouma. Biography Since 1975, he has been living in exile in Paris, France. He is married to Tiao Oanna Rangsi and they have four children. Prince Mangkra Souvannaphouma is Founder and President of the Laos Committee for the Defense of Laws and People, which aims to remove the current government of Laos and establish a constitutional monarchy. He works along with other members of the Laos Royal Family such as Prince Sauryavong Savang, Crown Prince Soulivong Savang and Prince Thayavong Savang to establish a Constitutional Monarchy in Laos. Prince Mangkra Souvannaphouma also serves as a member of the Council of Regency of Laos. He believes that the Lao Royal family can provide for his people social and economic change to unify the people for a peaceful solution to all problems in Laos.
