Arid Lands Information Network (ALIN) is a Kenya-based non-governmental organisation that seeks to exchange ideas and experiences among "grassroots change agents". It sees its goal as enabling such grassroot change agents to learn from one another, through capacity-building and what it terms the "innovative use of information and communication technologies (ICTs)." ALIN Known as the Arid Lands Information Network (ALIN), this organisation describes itself as "a non-profit, non-political NGO". Its focus of work is on the arid and semi-arid lands (also referred to as the ASALs) within the African Great Lakes region. Membership ALIN is a network of over 2,000 grassroots Community Development Workers (CDWs) drawn from non-governmental organisations and community- based organisations as well as government departments. The Alliance of the National Left ( Spanish: ''Alianza de la Izquierda Nacional'', ALIN) was a left-wing political party in Bolivia. It was founded in May 1973 by ex-President General Juan José Torres and Major Rubén Sánchez Valdivia. In an effort to reintegrate the Bolivian resistance with the concrete struggles of the Bolivian masses, Torres and Sánchez Valdivia, with the support of the Bolivian Workers' Center, organized the ALIN as a new movement of national resistance patterned on the Argentine experience. With its headquarters in Buenos Aires, the ALIN reached an agreement in January 1974 with the powerful National Confederation of Peasant Workers of Bolivia (CNTCB). Oscar Alin
Oscar Josef Alin (22 December 184631 December 1900) was a Swedish historian and politician. Life Alin was born in Falun, Sweden. In 1872 he completed his doctorate and became docent of political science, and in 1882 ''professor skytteanus'' of Government and Eloquence at Uppsala University. As ''professor skytteanus'' he succeeded Vilhelm Erik Svedelius, whom he also followed in the inspectorship of the university's Västmanland-Dalarna Nation. In September 1888 he was elected a member of the first chamber of the Riksdag, where he attached himself to the conservative protectionist party, over which, from the first, he exercised great authority. He retired from the Riksdag in 1899 to become ''rector magnificus'' of the university, but died already at the end of the next year. It is as a historian that Alin is most remarkable. Alin Goyan
Alin Goyan ( hy, Ալին Գոյան) is an Armenian music singer from Yerevan, Armenia. Her repertoire includes traditional music from Komitas as well as pop songs. She started to attend vocal music school of voice conservation when she was six, appeared at big Armenian stages and traveled with talented children to a number of European countries. She graduated as a lawyer and worked for several years in this profession until she realized that music was her real love, and entered the Yerevan Conservatory.
