Alikovsky District
Alikovsky District (russian: А́ликовский райо́н; cv, Элӗк районӗ, ''Elĕk rayonĕ'') is an administrativeLaw #28 and municipalLaw #37 district (raion), one of the twenty-one in the Chuvash Republic, Russia. It is located in the northwestern central part of the republic and borders with Morgaushsky and Yadrinsky Districts in the north, Krasnoarmeysky District in the east, Vurnarsky and Shumerlinsky Districts in the south, and with Krasnochetaysky District in the west. The area of the district is . Its administrative center is the rural locality (a '' selo'') of Alikovo. Population: The population of Alikovo accounts for 14.5% of the district's total population. History The district was formed on October 1, 1927. Economy There is a construction plant in Alikovo. Nikolai Yut
Nikolai Yakovlevich Yut ( cv, Николай Ют, ''Nikolay Yut''; russian: Николай Яковлевич Ют; July 30, 1898 – March 27, 1967) was a Chuvash writer, folklorist and literary critic. He became a member of the USSR Union of Writers in 1934. He was the cousin of the Chuvash writer and literature critic Arcady Aris. Nikita Larionovič Larionov ( Chuvash and russian: link=no, Никита Ларионов; 7 February 1932 – 22 September 2014) was a writer and poet. Larionov was a member of the Chuvashia Writers Union (1991), member of the Russia Writers Union, and was a USSR sports master. He lived in Alikovo, Alikovsky District, Chuvash Republic. Biography Larionov was born 7 February 1932 in the village of Karmaly in the Alikovsky District (Chuvash Republic). He was educated in the Chuvash State Pedagogic University. Arcady Ivanovich Aris ( cv, Аркадий Иванович Арис; January 29, 1901 – June 1, 1942) was a Chuvash writer and literary critic. He became a member of the USSR Union of Writers in 1934. Anatoly Trofimovich Serep ( Chuvash & russian: Сереп Анатолий Трофимович; 1920–2003), was a Chuvash writer and poet. Biography Serep was born 1920 in the village of Man Toktashin the Alikovsky Districtof the Chuvash Republic, Russia. He was educated in Kalinino (modern day Tashir), and studied pedagogy. Alexander Artemiev
Alexander Artemiev ( Chuvash and russian: Артемьев Александр Спиридонович; 14 Sept 1924 – 5 August 1998.''Афанасьев П.'' Писатели Чувашии. — Cheboksary, 2006), was a Chuvash poet, prose writer, translator and critic. Biography Artemiev attended secondary school in the Shtanashi village of Chuvashia.
