Alice Doyard
Alice Doyard is an Oscar winning French film maker. Her area of specialism is history and the effects of international conflict. She was made a Chevalier de l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres by the French government in 2021. In the same year she was named as one of the 50 Most influential French people by Vanity Fair magazine. Doyard was born in Grenoble in 1972, one of four children of Jean Doyard, an engineer, and his wife Catherine, a freelance journalist. She moved to Paris in her early teens. Education Alice Doyard was educated at the Lycée Carnot in the 17th arrondissement of Paris. After obtaining her baccalaureate she studied at Paris Dauphine University where she obtained Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Mathematics. She also studied media and cinema at De Paul University in Chicago. Colette Marin-Catherine
Colette Marin-Catherine (born 25 April 1929), is a French resistance fighter from Bretteville-l'Orgueilleuse. She joined the Resistance in the summer of 1944 where she was a reconnaissance agent and then a nurse after the Normandy landings; also resistant, her brother Jean-Pierre Catherine was arrested in 1943 and died in the Mittelbau-Dora concentration camp in 1945. After the war, she pursued memorial work. She rose to prominence when Anthony Giacchino's short documentary '' Colette'', which follows her on a visit to Dora's camp where her brother died, won the Oscar in its category at the 93rd Academy Awards. Fergal Keane
Fergal Patrick Keane (born 6 January 1961) is an Irish foreign correspondent with BBC News, and an author. For some time, Keane was the BBC's correspondent in South Africa. He is a nephew of the Irish playwright, novelist and essayist John B. Keane. Early life Born in London, Keane grew up in Dublin and later in Cork. His father was the Listowel-born actor, Éamonn Keane. He attended three primary schools in Dublin: Scoil Bhride, a gaelscoil (Irish-language school), St. Mary's College and Terenure College, and, later, one primary school in Cork, St. Joseph's.
