Alica Schmidt
Alica Schmidt (; born 8 November 1998) is a German runner. She was part of the national team that came second in the 4 × 400 metres relay event at the 2017 European Athletics U20 Championships, and third in the same discipline at the 2019 European Athletics U23 Championships. She was previously a fitness coach of Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund. Schmidt was part of the German relay squad at the 2020 Summer Olympics, though she did not compete. Early life Schmidt was born in 1998 in Worms, Germany. Her family now lives in Ingolstadt, Bavaria, Germany. She attended Fresenius University of Applied Sciences. Career Schmidt started competing in the 200 metres, 400 metres, and 800 metres running events. In 2018, she started competing in 400 metres hurdles events. 2018 German Athletics Championships
The 2018 German Athletics Championships was the 118th edition of the national championship in outdoor track and field for Germany. It was held on 21 and 22 July at the Max-Morlock-Stadion in Nuremberg. It served as the selection meeting for Germany at the 2018 European Athletics Championships. Personal Record
A personal record or personal best (abbreviated to PR or PB) is an individual's best performance in a given sporting discipline. It is most commonly found in athletic sports, such as track and field, other forms of running, swimming (sport), swimming and Olympic weightlifting, weightlifting. The term "PR" came from the world of running, referring to a person's best time in a race of a specific distance. So, if someone runs their first 5K run, 5K race in 28:45, that's their PR for the 5-kilometre distance. The 4 × 400 metres relay or long relay is an athletics track event in which teams consist of four runners who each complete 400 metres or one lap. It is traditionally the final event of a track meet. At top class events, the first leg and the first bend of the second leg are run in lanes. Start lines are thus staggered over a greater distance than in an individual 400 metres race; the runners then typically move to the inside of the track. The slightly longer 4 × 440 yards relay was a formerly run British and American event, until metrication was completed in the 1970s. Relay race runners typically carry a relay baton which they must transfer between teammates. Runners have a 20 m box (usually marked with blue lines) in which to transfer the baton.
