Ali Rogers Fauntleroy (born October 29, 1991) is an American beauty pageant titleholder from Laurens, South Carolina who was named Miss South Carolina 2012. Biography She won the title of Miss South Carolina on July 14, 2012, when she received her crown from outgoing titleholder Bree Boyce. Rogers was swimsuit preliminary winner at Miss South Carolina 2012. Rogers' platform is “Making a Difference for Children with Disabilities” and she said she hoped to raise awareness for children with developmental disabilities during her reign as Miss South Carolina. Her competition talent was an original piano composition. Rogers majored in Communication Studies and is a member of Alpha Delta Pi at Clemson University. Miss America's Outstanding Teen State Pageants
Miss America's Outstanding Teen pageants select the representative for each state for the Miss America's Outstanding Teen pageant. Although Miss America state pageants used to run unofficial teen competitions, Miss America's Outstanding Teen was the first official teen pageant associated with the Miss America Organization and the first for which there was a national competition. The first national pageant was held in August 2005 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida. As this is the teen version of the Miss America pageant, there has never been a swimwear component of the competition: contestants compete in interview, evening wear, active wear, and talent. Miss South Carolina
The Miss South Carolina competition is the pageant that selects the representative for the state of South Carolina in the Miss America pageant. The pageant was first held in Myrtle Beach and moved to Greenville starting in 1958 and remained in that city until the 1990s. Spartanburg hosted the pageant in a few different venues until new leadership took over the organization and moved the pageant to Columbia, SC in 2011. The pageant was televised since the 1960s until the 1998 pageant. Televising was resumed with the 2000 pageant through 2006. The pageant returned to television in 2014. Two South Carolina women have become Miss America; Marian McKnight of Manning in 1957 and Kimberly Aiken of Columbia in 1994. Miss America's Outstanding Teen
Miss America's Outstanding Teen is an American scholarship pageant. It is the sister program to the Miss America Organization, and it aims to "promote scholastic achievement, creative accomplishment, healthy living and community involvement for America's teens." In order to be eligible to compete, participants must first compete and win at the local level and then win the state title. The competition consists of several parts of competition which consists of an eight-minute interview in front of a panel of judges, talent, lifestyle and wellness, evening wear, and an on-stage question. All competitors must be girls between the ages of 13 and 18 years of age. More than $113,000 in scholarship grants were distributed among the 51 contestants in the pageant along with $29 Million in in-kind tuition with 7 universities, with a $30,000 scholarship being awarded to the winner.
