Alfredo Iriarte
Alfredo Iriarte (1932–2002) was a Colombian historian and writer, author of many short historical and fiction novels and essays. Career His bibliography includes ''Lo que lengua mortal decir no pudo'' (1979), ''Bestiario tropical'' (1986), ''Episodios Bogotanos'' (1987), ''Espárragos para dos leones'', ''Batallas y batallitas en la historia de Colombia'' (1993), ''Abominaciones y denuestos'' (1994), ''Muertes Legendarias'' (1996), and ''El jinete de Bucentauro'' (2000), his last novel. Iriarte wrote commentaries on the proper idiomatic use of the Spanish language in his newspaper column ''Rosario de perlas'', published periodically in ''El Tiempo'' for more than 25 years. Idiomatic
Idiom, also called idiomaticness or idiomaticity, is the syntactical, grammatical, or structural form peculiar to a language. Idiom is the realized structure of a language, as opposed to possible but unrealized structures that could have developed to serve the same semantic functions but did not. The grammar of a language (its morphology, phonology, and syntax) is inherently arbitrary and peculiar to a specific language (or group of related languages). For example, although in English it is idiomatic (accepted as structurally correct) to say "cats are associated with agility", other forms could have developed, such as "cats associate toward agility" or "cats are associated of agility". Unidiomatic constructions sound wrong to fluent speakers, although they are often entirely comprehensible. Ephemera are transitory creations which are not meant to be retained or preserved. Its etymological origins extends to Ancient Greece, with the common definition of the word being: "the minor transient documents of everyday life". Ambiguous in nature, various interpretations of ephemera and related items have been contended, including menus, newspapers, postcards, posters, sheet music, stickers and valentines. Since the printing revolution, ephemera has been a long-standing element of everyday life. HJCK
HJCK El Mundo en Bogotá is a Colombian cultural radio station, founded 15 September 1950 and based in Bogotá. HJCK became an online-only station in 2005. HJCK was founded by intellectuals Eduardo Caballero Calderón, Hernando and Alfonso Martínez Rueda, Alfonso Peñaranda, Gonzalo Rueda Caro, Álvaro Castaño Castillo and his wife, Gloria Valencia de Castaño, as the first privately owned cultural radio station in Colombia. They bought Radio Granadina, an AM station in Bogotá (HJCK would move to FM in 1967). Its slogan, "El Mundo en Bogotá", comes after one of its first programmes, which included Gabriel García Márquez as its correspondent in Caracas. In 2000 HJCK expanded its programming, at the time devoted to classical music and cultural programmes, to include other music genres, such as blues, jazz, bossa nova, son cubano, and classic rock.
