Alfred Hennen Morris (March 3, 1864 – July 9, 1959) was an American businessman politician, and racehorse owner/breeder. Early life Morris was born in Wilmington, Delaware on March 3, 1864. He was the son of John Albert Morris and Cora Hennen, the daughter of prominent New Orleans Judge Alfred Hennen, a Justice of the Louisiana Supreme Court. His siblings included Dave Hennen Morris (1872–1944), the United States Ambassador to Belgium and Envoy to Luxembourg who married Alice Vanderbilt Shepard, and Frances Isabel Morris, who married Lewis Cass Ledyard (1851–1932), the prominent attorney. His father, the Louisiana Lottery "king", was descended from the Colonial Morris family of Morrisania. His grandfather, Francis Morris, owned the mare Ruthless, who won the first Belmont Stakes in 1867. Morris graduated from Harvard University in 1885. Alfred Morris (cricketer)
Alfred Morris (11 September 1876 – 29 March 1961) was an English cricketer. Morris was a right-handed batsman who bowled right-arm medium pace. He was born in West Hartlepool, County Durham. Morris made his debut for Durham against Northumberland in the 1905 Minor Counties Championship. He played Minor counties cricket for Durham from 1905 to 1904, making 89 Minor Counties Championship appearances. He made a first-class appearance for the Minor Counties against the touring South Africans in 1912. In this match, he scored 3 runs in the Minor Counties only innings before being dismissed by Sid Pegler. In the South Africans only innings, he took all three wickets to fall in the innings: Louis Tancred, Tommy Ward and Tip Snooke for the cost of 5 runs from 6.3 overs. He made a further first-class appearance in 1912 for an England XI against the touring Australians. Edwin Morris (bishop)
Alfred Edwin Morris (8 May 1894 – 19 October 1971) was the Bishop of Monmouth and Archbishop of Wales in the middle of the 20th century. After World War I service with the RAMC he was educated at University of Wales, Lampeter, St David's College Lampeter and then St John's College, Oxford. Ordained in 1924 he became Professor of Hebrew and Theology at St David's College, Lampeter, holding the post until his elevation to the episcopate. A noted author and Prelate, Sub-Prelate of the Venerable Order of Saint John, Order of St John of Jerusalem, he retired in 1967 and died four years later. His papers are held at the Roderic Bowen Library. Alfred Cosier Morris (born 12 November 1941) is a British academic. He was the first vice-chancellor of the University of the West of England in Bristol from 1992 to 2005 and before that was director of its predecessor, Bristol Polytechnic, from 1986. Education Educated at Hymers College, Morris went on to study financial control at the University of Lancaster. Alfred Bruce Morris (born December 12, 1988) is an American football running back who is a free agent. He played college football at Florida Atlantic and was drafted by the Washington Redskins in the sixth round of the 2012 NFL Draft. He has also played for the San Francisco 49ers, Dallas Cowboys, Arizona Cardinals, and New York Giants. Early life Morris attended Pine Forest High School in Pensacola, Florida, where he was a letterman in football, basketball, and track. In football, he saw action on both sides of the ball.
