Alfred Dahlqvist
Alfred Dahlqvist (13 May 1914 – 21 October 1983) was a Swedish cross-country skier who won a silver medal in the 18 km event at the 1938 World Championships. He won three more medals in 1941, but these are not considered official because of the limited number of competitors. Bräcke Municipality () is a municipality in Jämtland County Jämtland County ( sv, Jämtlands län, ) is a county or ''län'' in the middle of Sweden consisting of the provinces of Jämtland and Härjedalen, along with minor parts of Hälsingland and Ångermanland, plus two small uninhabited strips of ... in northern Sweden. Håkan Lidman (31 January 1915 – 6 June 2000) was a Swedish hurdler who specialized in the 110 m event. He competed at the 1936 and 1948 Summer Olympics and finished fourth and sixth, respectively. He won two medals at the European championships: a gold in 1946 and a silver in 1938. In 1940 he set a European record at 14.0 and was awarded the Svenska Dagbladet Gold Medal. Lidman held the Swedish 110 m hurdles title in 1935–45 and 1947–1948. Henry Kälarne
John Henry Jonsson (12 May 1912 – 9 March 2001) was a Swedish runner who won a bronze medal over 5000 m at the 1936 Summer Olympics. He finished second at the 1938 European Championships. In 1940 he changed his name to Henry Kälarne, and was awarded the Svenska Dagbladet Gold Medal that same year. Jonsson worked as a firefighter in Stockholm. During his career he won 11 national titles: in the 1500 m (1936 and 1940), 5000 m (1935 and 1937–39) and 8000 m cross country (1935–39). Cross-country Skiing (sport)
Competitive cross-country skiing encompasses a variety of race formats and course lengths. Rules of cross-country skiing are sanctioned by the International Ski Federation and by various national organizations. International competitions include the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships, the FIS Cross-Country World Cup, and at the Winter Olympic Games. Such races occur over homologated, groomed courses designed to support classic (in-track) and freestyle events, where the skiers may employ skate skiing. The ''Fédération internationale de ski et de snowboard'' (FIS; en, International Ski and Snowboard Federation) is the highest international governing body for skiing and snowboarding.
