Alfonso Pérez De Vivero, 3rd Count Of Fuensaldaña
Alfonso Pérez de Vivero ( Valladolid, 1603 – Cambrai, 21 November 1661), Count of Fuensaldaña, was a Spanish soldier, nobleman and officeholder. In 1632, when in his late twenties, he went to Flanders with a commission as captain of a company in the Army of Flanders. In 1635 he became governor of the citadel of Cambrai, and in 1636 ''maestre de campo ''Maestre de campo'' was a rank created in 1534 by the Emperor Charles V, Holy Roman Emperor, Carlos V, inferior in rank only to the ''captain general, capitán general'' and acted as a chief of staff. He was chosen by the monarch in the Council o ...''. He was general of artillery on the French front in 1640–1641, general of cavalry on the Dutch front in 1643, general of infantry on the French front 1644–1646, and governor of arms (second-in-command of the whole army) 1648–1656. Lucas Vorsterman
Lucas Vorsterman (1595–1675) was a Baroque engraver. He worked with the artists Peter Paul Rubens and Anthony van Dyck, as well as for patrons such as Thomas Howard, 21st Earl of Arundel and Charles I of England. Biography Vorsterman was born in Zaltbommel. Around 1618, Vorsterman joined Rubens' workshop. Between 1619 and 1621, Vorsterman was Rubens's sole engraver. At that time, Rubens had embarked upon a printmaking enterprise in which he enlisted Vorsterman to engrave a number of his notable paintings, to which Rubens appended personal and professional dedications to noteworthy individuals. In 1621, a violent dispute arose between Vorsterman and Rubens. It is not clear whether there was a physical altercation between the two men, but the situation was sufficiently serious for Rubens' lawyers to petition the authorities for a protection order, which was granted. ''Maestre de campo'' was a rank created in 1534 by the Emperor Charles V, Holy Roman Emperor, Carlos V, inferior in rank only to the ''captain general, capitán general'' and acted as a chief of staff. He was chosen by the monarch in the Council of State, and commanded a ''tercio''. Their powers were similar to those of the old marshals of the Kingdom of Castile: he had the power to administer justice and to regulate the food supply. Giovanni (Gian) Giacomo Teodoro Trivulzio (1597 – 3 August 1656) was an Italian Cardinal who held several high functions in service of the Spanish Crown. Trivulzio was born and died in Milan, Duchy of Milan. He was the son of Carlo Emanuele Teodoro Trivulzio, Count of Melzo, who died when Gian Giacomo was still very young, and Catherina Gonzaga. His sister was Ippolita Trivulzio. In 1615 he married Giovanna Maria Grimaldi, daughter of Hercule, Lord of Monaco.
