Alexandru Ștefan Sătmăreanu (born 9 March 1952) is a Romanian former footballer who played as a defender. Club career Born in Oradea, Alexandru Sătmăreanu started his career in his hometown at Crișul, making his Divizia A debut on 21 September 1969 in a 2–1 away victory against ASA Târgu Mureș, the team relegating at the end of that season in Divizia B, but he stayed with the club, helping it promote back to the first division after only one season in which he played 29 matches and scored 7 goals. The following went to play for Dinamo București, helping the team win three league titles in 1973, 1975 and 1977, in the first he played 16 matches without scoring, in the second he appeared in 29 games and scored 3 goals and in the third he made 34 appearances in which he scored 5 goals. The 1977–80 Balkan Cup, was the 12th Balkan Cup football tournament. It was the first to have a group stage involving the five teams split into two groups, one of three teams and the other of two, with the winner of each one meeting in the final. The 1973–76 Balkan Cup was the 11th Balkan Cup football tournament. It was the first tournament played in a knockout system with semi-finals and finals. It was played between April 1973 and November 1976 between Turkey, Romania, Bulgaria and Greece. A total of 107 teams entered the 1978 FIFA World Cup qualification rounds, which began with the preliminary qualification draw on 20 November 1975 at Guatemala City. Cornel Dinu
Cornel Dinu (born 2 August 1948) is a Romanian retired professional footballer and manager who played as a sweeper or a defensive midfielder. He started out his playing career at hometown club Metalul Târgoviște in 1965, and went on to spend the rest of his career at Dinamo București with which he won eight domestic trophies. Internationally, Dinu appeared in over 60 matches for the Romania national team and scored three goals. He was named the Romanian Footballer of the Year three times, in 1970, 1972 and 1974, and in the former year also finished on the 24th place in the Ballon d'Or voting. Valentin Stănescu (20 November 1922 – 4 April 1994) was a Romanian football goalkeeper and manager. Club career Valentin Stănescu also known as "Tinel" or "Zimbrul" ( The bison) was born on 20 November 1922 in București, Romania and started playing junior level football at age 11 in 1933 at local club Olimpia. North American Soccer League (1968–1984)
The North American Soccer League (NASL) was the top-level major professional soccer league in the United States and Canada that operated from 1968 to 1984. It was the first soccer league to be successful on a national scale in the United States.
