Alexandre Trauner
Alexandre Trauner (born Sándor Trau; 3 August 1906 in Budapest, Kingdom of Hungary, Hungary – 5 December 1993 in Omonville-la-Petite, France) was a Hungarian film production designer. After studying painting at Hungarian University of Fine Arts, Hungarian Royal Drawing School, he left the country in 1929, fleeing from the antisemitic government of Miklós Horthy, Admiral Horthy. In Paris, he became the assistant of set designer Lazare Meerson, at the studios in Épinay-sur-Seine working on such films as ''À nous la liberté'' (1932) and ''La Kermesse héroïque'' (1935). The Military Administration in France (german: Militärverwaltung in Frankreich; french: Occupation de la France par l'Allemagne) was an interim occupation authority established by Nazi Germany during World War II to administer the occupied zone in areas of northern and western France. 30th Berlin International Film Festival
The 30th annual Berlin International Film Festival was held from 18–29 February 1980. The Golden Bear was awarded to the American film ''Heartland'' directed by Richard Pearce and West German film '' Palermo oder Wolfsburg'' directed by Werner Schroeter. The retrospective was dedicated to American filmmaker Billy Wilder along with a 3D films retrospective. Moritz de Hadeln became the director of the festival and increased the efforts in expansion of Berlin film market. To ease tensions with the Soviet Union due to the Cold War era at the moment, the organizers decided to withdraw the films ''Ninotchka'' and ''One, Two, Three'' from the Billy Wilder retrospective. ''Subway'' is a 1985 French thriller film directed by Luc Besson and starring Isabelle Adjani and Christopher Lambert. The film is classified as part of the cinéma du look movement. Plot Having stolen some compromising documents from a powerful and successful entrepreneur/gangster at a party, a man known as Fred escapes from the police and takes refuge in the underground world of the Paris Métro stations and tunnels. Joseph Walton Losey III (; January 14, 1909 – June 22, 1984) was an American theatre and film director, producer, and screenwriter. Born in Wisconsin, he studied in Germany with Bertolt Brecht and then returned to the United States. Blacklisted by Hollywood in the 1950s, he moved to Europe where he made the remainder of his films, mostly in the United Kingdom.
