Alexandra Skoglund
Louise Sophie Alexandra Skoglund (1862–1938) was a Swedish suffragette, women's rights activist and politician. Life Skoglund was born 22 October 1862 in Stockholm, Sweden. Skoglund graduated from Högre lärarinneseminariet in 1883. She was a teacher at the Åhlinska skolan in 1912–1933. In 1902–1903, she was one of the founders of the National Association for Women's Suffrage. After the Country Association for Women's Suffrage had abandoned its political neutrality in 1911, when the conservative Moderate Party was the only party left opposed to women suffrage, Alexandra Skoglund was one of the right wing suffragists to create the Moderate Association for Women's Suffrage. The Royal Seminary, fully the Royal Advanced Female Teachers' Seminary ( sv, Kungliga Högre Lärarinneseminariet, abbreviated KHLS), was a normal school (teachers' college) in Stockholm, Sweden. It was active from 1861 until 1943. It was the first public institution of higher academic learning open to women in Sweden. The Royal Normal School for Girls (') was a secondary school attached to the Royal Seminary. It served as a feeder program for the seminary and was the first public girls' school in the country. Åhlinska Skolan
Åhlinska skolan (Åhlin School), or Åhlinska flickskolan (Åhlin Girls' School), was a girls' school in Stockholm, Sweden. Active from 1847 to 1939, it was one of the first schools in Sweden that offered serious academic education to female students. History The school was founded by Karin Åhlin in 1847. It was managed as a private girls' school, initially with only Åhlin and her sisters as teachers, and expanded from 14 students in 1847 to 45 in 1857, changing localities and expanding its activity as the number of students grew. Eventually, it also included a co-educational primary education school. In 1891, it became a gymnasium for females, and in 1894, it was given the right to administer the ''studentexamen'' for its students. The National Association for Women's Suffrage ( sv, Landsföreningen för kvinnans politiska rösträtt, LKPR) was a part of the general suffrage movement and the national society for women's suffrage in Sweden. It functioned as a parallel to the :sv: Sveriges allmänna rösträttsförbund, Sveriges allmänna rösträttsförbund (SARF; 'The Swedish League for Universal Suffrage') which was active mainly in acquiring full suffrage for males.
