Alexandra Försterling
Alexandra Försterling (born 27 November 1999) is a German professional golfer and Ladies European Tour player. She won the 2023 VP Bank Swiss Ladies Open. As an amateur, she won the 2014 European Young Masters and was runner-up at the 2020 European Ladies' Team Championship and the 2021 European Ladies Amateur. Amateur career Försterling became a member of the German National Team in 2014, the year in which she won the European Young Masters both individually and with the team. Also in 2014, she was selected for the European team at the Junior Ryder Cup, held at Blairgowrie Golf Club in Scotland. She appeared four times at the European Girls' Team Championship between 2014 and 2017. Along with Helen Tamy Kreuzer, Aline Krauter and Paula Schulz-Hanssen she was runner-up at the 2020 European Ladies' Team Championship, beaten 2–1 in the final by a Swedish team with Linn Grant, Ingrid Lindblad, Maja Stark and Beatrice Wallin. 2022 Arnold Palmer Cup
The 2022 Arnold Palmer Cup was a team golf competition to be held from 1–3 July 2022 at Golf Club de Genève, Vandœuvres, Switzerland. It was the 26th time the event had been contested and the fifth under the new format in which women golfers play in addition to men, and the United States plays an international team. The international team won the match 33–27. Format The contest was played over three days. On Friday, there were 12 mixed four-ball matches. On Saturday there were 24 foursomes matches, 12 in the morning, six all-women matches and six all-men matches, and 12 mixed matches in the afternoon. 24 singles matches were played on Sunday. In all, 60 matches were played. Each of the 60 matches was worth one point in the larger team competition. Arnold Palmer Cup
The Arnold Palmer Cup is an annual team golf competition for college/university golfers. From 2018 it has been contested between a United States team and an International team representing the rest of the world. The teams consist of 12 men and 12 women. The teams are selected on the basis of nationality, not according to the location of the players' universities. The 2023 event will be held from June 10 to 12 at Laurel Valley Golf Club, near Ligonier, Pennsylvania. History From its foundation in 1997 until 2017 the event was only contested by men. From 1997 until 2002 the United States played Great Britain & Ireland while from 2003 to 2017 the United States played a European team. 2022 Espirito Santo Trophy
The 2022 Espirito Santo Trophy took place 24–27 August at Le Golf National and Golf de Saint-Nom-la-Bretèche south-west of Paris, France. It was the 29th women's golf World Amateur Team Championship for the Espirito Santo Trophy. Format The tournament was a 72-hole stroke play team event. Each team of three players played two rounds at Le Golf National and two rounds at Golf de Saint-Nom-la-Bretèche in different orders. The top teams played their final round on Le Golf National, The best two scores for each round counted towards the team total. Venues Le Golf National had previously hosted the Open de France every year except two since 1991, the 2018 Ryder Cup and the 1994 Eisenhower Trophy and Espirito Santo Trophy. Espirito Santo Trophy
The Espirito Santo Trophy (World Women's Amateur Team Championships) is a biennial world amateur team golf championship for women organised by the International Golf Federation. The inaugural event was held in 1964. It was instituted by the French Golf Federation in an agreement with the United States Golf Association. It was planned by Lally Segard, at the time known as Vicomtesse de Saint Sauveur, from France and Mrs. Henri Prunaret from America. Segard also asked her friends Ricardo and Silvia Espirito Santo, from Portugal, to donate a trophy for the event, which they did. They had originally bought the golden cup, which had belonged to Tsar Nicholas II of Russia, for an international Portuguese event that was not played anymore. The 2022 European Ladies' Team Championship took place 5–9 July at Conwy Golf Club in Conwy County Borough, Wales, United Kingdom. It was the 39th women's golf amateur European Ladies' Team Championship. Venue Conwy Golf Club was formed in 1890. Its links course in Conwy County Borough, on the north coast of Wales, was designed by Jack Morris, club professional at Royal Liverpool Golf Club and nephew of Old Tom Morris, the first nine holes in 1875 and additional nine holes in 1895. The 2021 European Ladies' Team Championship took place 6–10 July at Royal County Down Golf Club, in Newcastle, County Down, Northern Ireland, United Kingdom It was the 38th women's golf amateur European Ladies' Team Championship. Venue The hosting course, one of the oldest on the island of Ireland, originally designed by Old Tom Morris and located in naturally links settings in the Murlough Nature Reserve, stretching along the shores of Dundrum Bay, was established in 1889. European Ladies' Team Championship
The European Ladies' Team Championship is a European amateur team golf championship for women organised by the European Golf Association. The inaugural event was held in 1959. It was played in odd-numbered years from 1959 to 2007 and has been played annually since 2008 (with the exception of 2012). Format Currently, the championship is contested by up to 20 teams, each of 6 players. The format consists of two rounds of strokeplay, out of which the five lowest scores from each team's six players will count each day. The total addition of the five lowest scores will constitute the team's score and determine the teams qualified for the last three rounds of matchplay.
