Alexander Moosbrugger
Alexander Moosbrugger (born 21 August 1972 in Bregenzerwald) is an Austrian Composer, living since 2001 in Berlin. Biography Alexander Moosbrugger completed studies at the Vorarlberger Landeskonservatorium (organ and harpsichord), at the Universität Wien (Philosophy) and at the Staatliche Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Stuttgart. Characteristic musical concerns Moosbrugger's work encompasses a fine differentiation of the entire soft dynamic range. He primarily is writing in chamber ensemble settings, rarely doubled, preferring among other genres the string quartet. Bregenzerwald
The Bregenz Forest (german: Bregenzerwald, ) is one of the main regions in the States of Austria, state of Vorarlberg (Austria). It overlaps, but is not coterminous with, the Bregenz Forest Mountains, which belong to a mountain range, range of the Northern Limestone Alps, specifically the northern flysch zone. It is the drainage basin of the Bregenzer Ach river. Geography The regional inhabitants often divide the Bregenz Forest into two main areas, the Vorderwald ('anterior forest') and Hinterwald ('hinterforest'). The Vorderwald, with its hills and low mountains, is closest to the Rhine valley. The Hinterwald has the higher mountains, with altitudes of up to 2,000 metres. Pellegrini Quartet
The Pellegrini Quartet is a string quartet named after its first violinist Antonio Pellegrini, founded in 1989 in Freiburg im Breisgau. Presentation The ensemble juxtaposes the traditional and the experimental. Its repertoire includes works of the Renaissance, the Baroque, the Viennese Classic (Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven), the early modern (Alexander von Zemlinsky, Hanns Eisler), and composers of the second half of the 20th century (among others Morton Feldman, John Cage, Luigi Nono and Giacinto Scelsi). Salvatore Sciarrino (born 4 April 1947) is an Italian composer of contemporary classical music. Described as "the best-known and most performed Italian composer" of the present day, his works include ''Quaderno di strada'' (2003) and ''La porta della legge'' (2006–08). Biography A native of Palermo, the young Sciarrino was attracted to the visual arts, but began experimenting with music when he was twelve. Though he had some lessons from Antonino Titone and Turi Belfiore, he is primarily self-taught as a composer. After his classical studies and a few years of university in his home city, in 1969 he moved to Rome, where he attended Franco Evangelisti's course in electronic music at the Accademia di Santa Cecilia. Georg Friedrich Haas (born 16 August 1953 in Graz, Austria) is an Austrian composer.
