Alexander Magleby
Alexander Magleby (born February 19, 1978) is the CEO of the professional rugby union team, The New England Free Jacks. He is a former professional rugby union coach, and former United States national team player and captain. Playing career Magleby was selected to the US national rugby sevens team his senior year of Dartmouth College, subsequently starting at hooker from 2000 to 2005, and captaining the Eagles to the 2005 Rugby World Cup Sevens. He also appeared for the US Eagles 15s on eight occasions garnering four test match caps from 2000 to 2001. A Dartmouth College alumnus, Magleby was captain his senior year (1999–2000). He started at flanker all four years helping lead the Big Green to Ivy League Championships in 1998, 1999, and 2000 under long-term Dartmouth Rugby head coach, Wayne Young '72. Kevin Swiryn
Kevin Swiryn (born December 16, 1984) is an American rugby union player, who played professionally for Agen in the French Top 14. Swiryn played at both centre and wing. Early life Swiryn was born in San Jose, California. He started playing rugby when he was 19 years old after the American football program at Saint Mary's College of California was cut. He went on to be named to the All-American Team, where he captained the squad in 2008. Professional career Swiryn's national team debut was on May 31, 2009 against Ireland. Hayden Smith
Hayden Smith (born 10 April 1985) is an Australian retired professional rugby union player who played for Saracens FC and the United States national rugby union team. Smith also spent two years playing professional American football as a tight end for the New York Jets of the National Football League. Early life Smith grew up in the town of Bullaburra in the Blue Mountains outside Sydney. He graduated from Blue Mountains Grammar School in 2002. As a teenager, he trained with the Sydney Kings NBL basketball team. Smith won a scholarship to play and study in the United States. Carlin Isles (born November 21, 1989) is an American rugby union player who plays for the United States national rugby sevens team. With 202 tries, Isles is first for the United States in career tries scored, ahead of teammate Perry Baker. Isles has been touted as the fastest rugby player. Luke Hume (born 26 January 1988), nicknamed the "Bald Eagle", is an American former rugby union and rugby league footballer who plays for the USA Eagles and USA 7s rugby teams. Nate Augspurger (born January 31, 1990) is an American rugby union player from Minneapolis, Minnesota who plays scrum-half for the San Diego Legion in Major League Rugby (MLR). The New Zealand national rugby sevens team competes in the World Rugby Sevens Series, Rugby World Cup Sevens, Summer Olympic Games and the Commonwealth Games. Al Caravelli (born 1959 or 1960 in Queens, New York) is head coach of the Philippines national rugby sevens team. He was head coach of the United States national rugby sevens team from 2006 until 2012. Caravelli inherited a team that was on a 30 game losing streak. The US national sevens team improved steadily on the IRB Sevens World Series circuit under Caravelli's leadership, improving from 15th during the 2006-07 season to 10th during the 2010-11 season. IRB Sevens World Series
The World Rugby Men's Sevens Series is an annual series of international rugby sevens tournaments run by World Rugby featuring national sevens teams. Organised for the first time in the 1999–2000 season as the IRB World Sevens Series, the competition was formed to promote an elite-level of international rugby sevens and develop the game into a viable commercial product. The competition has been sponsored by banking group HSBC since 2014. The season's circuit consists of 10 tournaments that generally begin in November or December and last until May.
