Aleksander Kogan (russian: Александр Коган) (born 15 April 1980, in Dushanbe, Tajik Soviet Socialist Republic) is а Russian singer, songwriter and film actor. Winner of the Golden Gramophone (2013 2014), RU.TV (2015) and Song of the Year (2013, 2014, 2015) Awards. Early life Alexander Kogan was born оп 15 April 1980, in Dushanbe, Tajikistan. When he was 6, his family moved to Moscow. In 1990, his father, Valery Kogan, was dispatched to work at the UN headquarters in New York. The family left for the United States to return later. From 1995 to 1998, Alexander attended Woodside Priory School in California. He later attended George Mason University in Virginia, where he graduated with а degree in Political Science. Aleksandr Kogan (russian: Александр Борисович Коган; born February 26, 1969, Orsk, Orenburg Oblast) is a Russian political figure and deputy of the 8th State Duma. In 2005, he was granted a Candidate of Sciences in Economics degree. From 1998 to 2003, he was the deputy of the Legislative Assembly of the Orenburg Region. In 2002–2003, he was the deputy of the Orenburg City Council. In 2003, he was appointed deputy of the 4th State Duma from the Orenburg constituency. In 2007, he was re-elected for the 5th State Duma. In 2008–2016, he was a member of the general and supreme council of the United Russia party. From January to May 2012, he was the Advisor to the Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation.
