Alexander Edelmann
Alexander Edelmann ( rus, Александр Лазаревич Эйдельман (Эдельман); 7 June 1904, Hostomel, Russian Empire – 31 October 1995, New York, United States), was a Soviet and American pianist and piano teacher. In 1923 he completed the Kyiv Conservatory, studying under Heinrich Neuhaus. From 1925 he taught at the Kyiv Conservatory. 1943-1950 — professor at the Kyiv Conservatory. 1950-1978 — professor at the Lviv Conservatory. In 1978 he emigrated from the USSR to the USA. Israeli Philharmonic
The Israel Philharmonic Orchestra (abbreviation IPO; Hebrew: התזמורת הפילהרמונית הישראלית, ''ha-Tizmoret ha-Filharmonit ha-Yisra'elit'') is an Israeli symphony orchestra based in Tel Aviv. Its principal concert venue is Heichal HaTarbut. History The Israel Philharmonic Orchestra was founded as the Palestine Symphony Orchestra by violinist Bronisław Huberman in 1936, at a time of the dismissal of many Jewish musicians from European orchestras. Its inaugural concert took place in Tel Aviv on December 26, 1936, conducted by Arturo Toscanini. Its first principal conductor was William Steinberg. Its general manager between 1938 and 1945 was Leo Kestenberg, who, like many of the orchestra members, was a German Jew forced out by the rise of Nazism and the persecution of Jews. Alex Edelman (born March 20, 1989) is an American stand-up comedian based in New York City. He is an internationally touring comic and found early success in the United Kingdom where he was named Best Newcomer at the 2014 Edinburgh Festival Fringe. He has toured three shows since 2014: ''Millennial'' (2014–2015), ''Everything Handed to You'' (2015–2016), and ''Just for Us'' (2018–2020). Biography Edelman was born in Boston to Cheryl, a real estate lawyer, and Elazer R. Edelman, a biomedical engineer, cardiologist, and professor. He has two brothers, Austin, and Israeli Olympian Adam Edelman. He was raised in Brookline, Massachusetts. He began performing stand-up at age 15. A baseball fan, he also worked for the Boston Red Sox and Los Angeles Dodgers associations as a teenager.
