Alex Davidson (6 June 1920 – 11 February 2005) was a Scottish football player. Davidson played for Hibernian in the Scottish Football League before the Second World War. He scored a late equalising goal in an Edinburgh derby against Hearts on 1 January 1938. During the war, he played for Lincoln City as a guest. Alexander Davidson is an English professional rugby league footballer who plays for London Skolars. Playing career Salford Red Devils Previously he has made 3 Super League appearances for the Salford Red Devils. As an amateur, he played second row, but has played mainly at prop in the professional game. Davidson signed for Salford's Academy from amateur club Blackbrook Royals, after previously playing for Wigan St Patrick's and Westhoughton Lions. He has international accolades at under 16 level, after playing in a test series against France Schoolboys in 2009. He made his first team début for Salford in a Round 6 win over Hull Kingston Rovers in 2011's Super League XVI, on 18 March 2011, coming on for Ryan Boyle at prop in the first half. Alexander Davidson (17 May 1839 – 2 January 1908) was a Scottish architect active in Australia. Davidson was born in Edinburgh and studied at the Royal Scottish Academy. He was articled to architect John Henderson, but after Henderson died prematurely he was persuaded, in 1864, to emigrate to Australia. Alexander Dyce Davidson (8 May 1807 – 27 April 1872) was born in Aberdeen in 1807, and spent his life there. To him more than to any other was due the transformation of religious opinion in Aberdeen from ‘moderatism’ to ‘evangelicalism,’ which led to the exodus of the city ministers and congregations at the Disruption of 1843. Davidson led the most influential congregation of the city into the Free church. Davidson was also an author leaving lectures on the Book of Esther and well as many sermons. Early life and education Alexander Dyce Davidson was born in Aberdeen in 1807, and spent his life there. He was the son of George Davidson, wright superintendent of the Devanha Brewery, Aberdeen, and brother of George Davidson, author of Rhyme of St Swithin. Alexander Dyce Davidson MD FRSE (24 August 1845 – 26 July 1896) was Scottish academic and surgeon. He was Professor of Materia Medica at Aberdeen University. He was described as a "sweet and amiable character". He specialised in ophthalmic surgery. Life Dyce studied Arts and Medicine at Aberdeen University before 18 months further study in Paris. He there studied ophthalmic surgery under Xavier Galezowski and Louis-Auguste Desmarres. During this period he also acted as ''externe'' (external consultant) at several of the Parisian hospitals.British Medical Journal: obituaries, 30 October 1886. He returned to Scotland around 1860, and was recognised as the foremost ophthalmic surgeon of his day, thereby acquiring a post of senior surgeon at the Blind Asylum in Aberdeen as well as senior surgeon at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.
