Alexander Baumjohann
Alexander Baumjohann (born 23 January 1987) is a German footballer most recently played for Sydney FC as an attacking midfielder. After developing as a star junior with Schalke 04, he moved to Borussia Mönchengladbach and enjoyed great success with the Bundesliga club, earning a move to Bayern Munich in 2009. A return to Schalke 04 soon followed, where he developed a reputation as an excellent provider, a reputation he further enhanced in spells with 1. FC Kaiserslautern and Hertha BSC. As of May 2018, he had amassed 46 career assists. Baumjohann moved to Brazil so his wife, who is Brazilian, could be closer to her family. FC Energie Cottbus (Lower Sorbian: ''Energija Chóśebuz'') is a German football club based in Cottbus, Brandenburg. It was founded in 1963 as SC Cottbus in what was East Germany. The DFL-Ligapokal (, officially Premiere Ligapokal , previously DFB-Ligapokal ) or the ''German League Cup'' was a German football competition that took place before the start of the Bundesliga season, featuring the top five teams of the previous Bundesliga season and the winners of the DFB-Pokal in Germany. The cup was known as the Premiere-Ligapokal after 2005, when Premiere, a German pay television network, took up sponsorship of the competition. The Ligapokal was not held in 2008 due to schedule crowding caused by the UEFA Euro 2008. Instead, the German Supercup was held on 23 July. The Ligapokal was not held in 2009 either, due to the German Football Association's decision to abolish it. During the 2005–06 German football season, FC Schalke 04 competed in the Bundesliga. Season summary The 2005-06 season was one of ups and downs for Schalke. The club only dropped two points more compared to the previous season, but this was only good enough to see Schalke finish in 4th. Schalke also exited the Champions League at the group stage, though there was little shame in elimination given that they were placed in the same group as last season's runners-up AC Milan and semi-finalists PSV Eindhoven. Schalke compensated with a great run to the UEFA Cup semi-final, with eventual champions Sevilla needing extra time to overcome the Germans. The 2019–20 A-League, also known as the 2019–20 Hyundai A-League for sponsorship reasons, was the 43rd season of national level soccer in Australia, and the 15th since the establishment of the A-League in 2004. The regular season commenced on 11 October 2019 and was scheduled to conclude on 26 April 2020, though was postponed to 19 August 2020 as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Markus Babbel (; born 8 September 1972) is a German professional football coach and former player who last managed the Western Sydney Wanderers FC. ''The World Game'' was an Australian football (soccer) television show broadcast on the SBS network, as well as a dedicated associated website.
