Alex Smithies
Alexander Smithies (born 5 March 1990) is an English professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Premier League club Leicester City. Smithies is a product of the Huddersfield Town academy who first came into prominence during the 2007–08 season. He joined Queens Park Rangers in 2015 where he played for three years before joining Cardiff City. Early life Smithies was born in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire. He grew up in Golcar, in the Colne Valley area of Huddersfield. He attended Colne Valley High School, Linthwaite. He grew up supporting Huddersfield Town. Smithies previously played football for Westend Juniors in Huddersfield's local leagues, and he joined the Huddersfield Town academy at the age of 8. Matt Glennon
Matthew William Glennon (born 8 October 1978) is an English former professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper. A graduate of the Bolton Wanderers Academy, he spent 1997 to 2001 at the club without making a first team appearance. Instead he spent part of 1999 on loan at Port Vale, and part of 2000 on loan at Stockport County and then Bristol Rovers; he played just one game for Rovers, and never made it onto the pitch for Port Vale or Stockport County. He did manage to find regular football on loan at Carlisle United in the 2000–01 campaign, before securing a £50,000 move to Hull City in June 2001. He returned to Carlisle on a free transfer in October 2002, and helped the club to win promotion out of the Conference National as winners of the 2005 play-off Final. Tony Coton
Anthony Philip Coton (born 19 May 1961) is an English football coach and former footballer who is a goalkeeper scout for Premier League side Manchester United. As a player he was as a goalkeeper who made 500 appearances in the Football League and Premier League for Birmingham City, Watford, Manchester City, Manchester United and Sunderland. During his career he was called up to the England team on one occasion in 1993 but didn't feature, with his only taste of international football being a cap for the England B team in 1992. Following his retirement in 1997, Coton returned to Manchester United as the clubs goalkeeping coach where he remained until an injury put an end to a ten-year coaching career, he has since spent time as a players' agent before working in scouting notably for Wigan Athletic, Bolton Wanderers and Aston Villa. Lee Clark (footballer)
Lee Robert Clark (born 27 October 1972) is an English football manager and former professional Association football, footballer, who was most recently the manager of Al-Merrikh SC, Al-Merrikh in the Sudan Premier League. As a player, he was a midfielder and played in the Premier League for Newcastle United F.C., Newcastle United, Sunderland A.F.C., Sunderland and Fulham F.C., Fulham. James Luke Newton Walker (born 25 November 1987) is an English former professional footballer who played as a striker. Career Charlton Athletic Walker was released by Charlton in 2006, but was invited back on a trial by new manager Iain Dowie during pre-season, and he impressed by scoring against Millwall, Germinal Beerschot and Hibernian, earning a new one-year contract. He has loan spells with Hartlepool United, Bristol Rovers (where he scored his first career goal against Boston United), Leyton Orient, Notts County and Yeovil Town. He is a former England under-18 international. On 23 November 2006, Walker joined Leyton Orient on a two-month loan deal. A penalty kick (commonly known as a penalty or a spot kick) is a method of restarting play in association football, in which a player is allowed to take a single shot at the goal while it is defended only by the opposing team's goalkeeper. It is awarded when an offence punishable by a direct free kick is committed by a player in their own penalty area. The shot is taken from the penalty mark, which is 11 m (12 yards) from the goal line and centred between the touch lines. Gerry Murphy (born 22 July 1943, in Dublin, Ireland) was the Director of Football Development at Huddersfield Town between 1988 and 2009. He was the Academy Director between 1988 and 17 April 2007, and was caretaker manager of Huddersfield Town in three different spells. Career Murphy never played football above amateur level, but has the full complement of coaching qualifications to international level. Huddersfield Town Murphy worked at Huddersfield Town since 1988, where he joined as scout. He also filled the Academy chief role, was three times Caretaker Manager, and his final position was as Director of Football Development.
