Alex Simmons
Alexandria Patrice Simmons (; born July 7, 1986) is an American basketball coach and former player who is currently the head women's basketball coach at the University of Memphis. From 2018 to 2023, she coached at Gardner–Webb University. Playing career Simmons played college basketball at Tennessee from 2004 to 2009, where she won two NCAA championships as a player. Coaching career Simmons began her coaching career as a graduate student manager at Kansas in 2009. Big South Conference Women's Basketball Tournament
The Big South Conference women's basketball tournament is the conference championship tournament in women's basketball for the Big South Conference. It is a single-elimination tournament involving all of the 10 league schools, and seeding is based on regular-season records with head-to-head match-up as a tie-breaker. The winner receives the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA women's basketball tournament. In the first round, the #7 seed faces off against the #10 and the #8 faces off against the #9. The #1 and #2 seeds play the winner of those games in the quarterfinals, while the #3 seed faces off against the #6 seed and the #4 seed faces off against the #5 seed. Matthew Ollen Insell (born September 22, 1982) is the current Associate Head Coach of Women's Basketball at Middle Tennessee State University. Insell was the head coach of the Ole Miss women's basketball team from 2013 to 2018 before he was let go by Ole Miss following the 2018 season. Prior to his time at Ole Miss, Insell spent 5 years as an Assistant Coach at the University of Kentucky and one year as the Director of Basketball Operations at Louisiana Tech University.
