Alex Meyer (swimmer)
Alexander Meyer (born July 5, 1988) is a former American competition swimmer who specialized in open water and long-distance swimming. He won a gold medal at the 2010 FINA World Open Water Swimming Championships in the 25-kilometer open water event. He was a member of the 2012 United States Olympic team, and placed tenth in the 10-kilometer open water event at the 2012 Summer Olympics. Alex won his final race before retirement, the 62nd Traversée internationale du lac St-Jean held on July 30, 2016. Early years Meyer was born in Rochester, Minnesota. He has always been around the water ever since he was a baby, and started swimming competitively when he was 7 years old in Glens Falls, New York. Oussama Mellouli
Oussama "Ous" Mellouli ( ar, أسامة الملولي; born 16 February 1984) is a Tunisian swimmer who competes in the freestyle and medley events. He is a three-time Olympic medalist, is an African record holder, and trains with the USC Trojans team based at the University of Southern California, where he studied as a computer science undergraduate and swam collegiately. Since returning from an Adderall-related drugs ban, Oussama Mellouli has been the 1500 m freestyle World champion at the 2009 World Aquatics Championships with a winning time of 14:37.28, then the second-best performance of all time. Mellouli was the gold medalist in the 1500 freestyle at the 2008 Olympics, the bronze medalist in the 1500 freestyle at the 2012 Olympics, and the gold medalist in the 10 km marathon swim at the 2012 Olympics. The men's marathon swim over a distance of 10 kilometres at the 2012 Olympic Games in London took place on 10 August in the Serpentine at Hyde Park. Sean Ryan (born August 13, 1992) is an American competition swimmer who specializes in long-distance and open-water freestyle events. Personal Ryan is a 2010 graduate of The McCallie School in Chattanooga, Tennessee. He swam with the Scenic City Aquatic Club, a USA Swimming program, and The McCallie School, under coach Stan Corcoran. He was a member of the National Junior Team and qualified for the National Open Water Team in 2008. He is now a member of the U.S. National Team for his success in the 1500-meter freestyle and open water events in 2011. Ryan currently is swimming for coach Mike Bottom at The University of Michigan and is majoring in mechanical engineering. Fran Crippen
Francis Crippen (April 17, 1984 – October 23, 2010) was an American long-distance swimmer. After being a pool swimmer for most of his career, Crippen made the transition to open water swimming in 2006. In international competitions, Crippen won seven medals, five of which were in the open water and two in the pool. Crippen died during an open water swimming race in the United Arab Emirates in 2010 at the age of 26. Biography Crippen was born in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, in 1984 to Pete and Pat Crippen. He graduated from Germantown Academy in Fort Washington, Pennsylvania, in 2002. Crippen graduated from the University of Virginia in 2006 where he majored in sociology.
