Alex Maley
Alex Maley (26 May 1874 – 20 September 1949) was a Scottish football manager and journalist. He was the younger brother of Tom Maley and Willie Maley. Alex Maley managed a number of clubs in Scotland and England, including Clyde, Clydebank Clydebank ( gd, Bruach Chluaidh) is a town in West Dunbartonshire, Scotland. Situated on the north bank of the River Clyde, it borders the village of Old Kilpatrick (with Bowling, West Dunbartonshire, Bowling and Milton, West Dunbartonshire, Mil ..., Hibernian and Crystal Palace. Maley became manager of Crystal Palace in November 1925, and oversaw thirteenth- and sixth-place finishes in Division Three in 1926 and 1927 respectively. However, the next season started poorly and after a succession of defeats Maley resigned in October 1927, and returned to Scotland where he had a second spell as manager of Clydebank. Largs
Largs ( gd, An Leargaidh Ghallda) is a town on the Firth of Clyde in North Ayrshire, Scotland, about from Glasgow. The original name means "the slopes" (''An Leargaidh'') in Scottish Gaelic. A popular seaside resort with a pier, the town markets itself on its historic links with the Vikings and an annual festival is held each year in early September. Thomas Edward Maley (8 November 1864 – 24 August 1935) was a Scottish football player and manager. Willie Maley
William Patrick Maley (25 April 1868 – 2 April 1958) was an Irish-born Scottish international football player and manager. He was the first manager of Celtic Football Club, and one of the most successful managers in Scottish football history. During his managerial tenure, Maley led Celtic to thirty major trophies (16 league championships and 14 Scottish Cups) in forty-three consecutive years as manager. He is attributed to have coined the famous Celtic motto 'It is not his creed nor his nationality which counts, it's the man himself.'
