Alex Hall (skier)
Alexander Hall (born September 21, 1998), known colloquially as "A Hall", is an American freestyle skier who competes internationally as a member of the US Freeskiing Slopestyle team. Career He competed in the 2017 FIS Freestyle World Ski Championships, the 2018 Winter Olympics and 2022 Winter Olympics. Hall won the gold medal in the men's slopestyle skiing event at the 2022 Games in Beijing. Hall currently rides for Spyder, Faction Skis, Panda Poles, and Monster Energy Drink. Slopestyle
Slopestyle is a winter sport in which athletes ski or snowboard down a course including a variety of obstacles including rails, jumps and other terrain park features. Points are scored for amplitude, originality and quality of tricks. The discipline has its roots in action sports like skateboarding and BMX and has very successfully crossed over into the snow sports worlds of skiing and snowboarding. Skiers use Twin-tip skis for their symmetry since they often go large portions of the course backward (referred to as "switch") and for their balanced weight so as to not destabilize spins. Slopestyle tricks fall mainly into four categories: spins, grinds, grabs and flips, and most tricks done in competition are a combination of these. Spyder is an American Colorado-based manufacturer of luxury, high end skiing & snowsports apparel. History David Jacobs, Spyder's founder and chairman was born in Montreal, Canada, and began skiing at age 13. At 21, he won the Quebec Kandahar, and from 1957 through 1961 was a member of the Canadian National Ski Team. In 1957 he captured the title of Canadian Downhill Ski Champion, and was the top-ranked member of the Canadian FIS Team the following season. He was the first full-time head coach and program administrator for the Canadian National Ski Team from 1964 to 1966.
