Alex Gilbey
Alexander Scott Gilbey (born 9 December 1994) is an English professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Stevenage on loan from League One club Charlton Athletic. Career Colchester United Born in Dagenham, London, Gilbey grew up in Colchester, Essex, where he attended the Gilberd School. As a youth, he played for Frinton & Walton Youth, before joining and progressing through the Academy at Colchester United, where he was youth team captain. He embarked on his two-year scholarship with the club in 2011 and signed his first professional contract only one year into his scholarship, penning a -year deal in February 2012. Dagenham
Dagenham () is a town in East London, England, within the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham. Dagenham is centred east of Charing Cross. It was historically a rural parish in the Becontree Hundred of Essex, stretching from Hainault Forest in the north to the River Thames in the south. Dagenham remained mostly undeveloped until 1921, when the London County Council began construction of the large Becontree housing estate. The population significantly increased as people moved to the new housing in the early 20th century, with the parish of Dagenham becoming Dagenham Urban District in 1926 and the Municipal Borough of Dagenham in 1938. The Essex Senior Cup is a Single-elimination tournament, knock-out system football competition that has been running since 1884, and is the most prestigious cup competition in the county of Essex. The competition is run mainly for Non-League football, non-League clubs in the region, although league sides have been known to enter the competition, such as Colchester United F.C., Colchester United, Dagenham & Redbridge F.C., Dagenham & Redbridge, Leyton Orient F.C., Leyton Orient and Southend United F.C., Southend United. Josh Thompson (footballer)
Joshua William Thompson (born 25 February 1991) is an English former footballer who played as a defender. He began his career at Atherton Collieries before joining Stockport County and later moved to Celtic. He had loan spells at Rochdale, Peterborough United and Chesterfield, and then joined Portsmouth. He had a loan spell with Colchester United before signing permanently for Southport. He left Southport at the end of the 2016/17 season following their relegation from the National League. The English Football League (EFL) is a league of professional football clubs from England and Wales. Founded in 1888 as the Football League, the league is the oldest such competition in the world. Oldham is a large town in Greater Manchester, England, amid the Pennines and between the rivers Irk and Medlock, southeast of Rochdale and northeast of Manchester. A penalty kick (commonly known as a penalty or a spot kick) is a method of restarting play in association football, in which a player is allowed to take a single shot at the goal while it is defended only by the opposing team's goalkeeper. It is awarded when an offence punishable by a direct free kick is committed by a player in their own penalty area.
