Alex Delgado
Alexander Delgado (born January 11, 1971) is a former Venezuelan catcher in Major League Baseball who played with the Boston Red Sox in their 1996 Boston Red Sox season, 1996 season. Listed at 6' 0", 160 lb., Delgado batted and threw right-handed. He was born in Zulia, Palmarejo, Zulia. In a 26-game career, Delgado posted a batting average (baseball), batting average of .250 (5-for-20) with one run batted in, RBI and five Run (baseball statistics), runs without home runs. Delgado also spent 18 seasons in the Minor Leagues, mostly in the Red Sox system, and had stints in the Mexican League with the Rieleros de Aguascalientes and Olmecas de Tabasco. In between, Delgado played winter ball with four clubs of the Venezuelan Professional Baseball League, Venezuelan League during 23 seasons spanning 1988–2011. His teammates dubbed him ''El Señor de los Anillos'' (The Lord of the Rings), as he was a member of 11 champion teams while collecting the most Championship Series rings ...

Catcher is a Baseball positions, position in baseball and softball. When a Batter (baseball), batter takes their at bat, turn to hit, the catcher crouches behind home plate, in front of the (home plate, home) Umpire (baseball), umpire, and receives the ball from the pitcher. In addition to this primary duty, the catcher is also called upon to master many other skills in order to field the position well. The role of the catcher is similar to that of the wicket-keeper in cricket. Positioned behind home plate and facing toward the outfield, the catcher can see the whole field, and is therefore in the best position to direct and lead the other players in a defensive play. Olmecas De Tabasco
The Olmecas de Tabasco (English: Tabasco Olmecs) are a professional baseball team in the Mexican League based in Villahermosa, Tabasco, Mexico. Their home ballpark is the Estadio Centenario 27 de Febrero. The Olmecas won their only Mexican League championship in 1993 under manager Juan Navarrete. The Olmecas have long been known for their pitching, especially Emigdio Lopez, Tabasco Cecilio Ruiz, Juan Jesus Alvarez, Jesus "Chito" Rios, Ricardo Osuna, and Gaudencio Aguirre. Other well-known players who have played for the Olmecas include catcher Elisha Garzón, first baseman Jay Gainer, second baseman Joel Serna, third baseman Manuel Ramirez, and shortstop Heber Gomez.
