Alex Ciabattoni
Alexandra Antonietta Ciabattoni (born 1 June 1994) is an Australian former professional basketball player and current coach of the South West Slammers of the NBL1 West. Early life Ciabattoni was born and raised in Adelaide, South Australia. She attended Mary MacKillop College in the suburb of Kensington and played basketball in the Central ABL for the Southern Tigers and South Adelaide Panthers between 2010 and 2013. College career In 2012, Ciabattoni moved to the United States to play college basketball for Newman University in Wichita, Kansas. As a freshman in 2012–13, she was named to the All-Heartland Conference First Team and received Heartland Conference Freshman of the Year honours. In 2020, Basketball Western Australia partnered with the National Basketball League (NBL) to bring NBL1 to Western Australia. 2018 WSBL Season
The 2018 WSBL season was the 30th season of the Women's State Basketball League (SBL). The regular season began on Friday 16 March, with round 1 seeing a 2017 grand final rematch between the Perry Lakes Hawks and Mandurah Magic. The 2018 WSBL All-Star Game was played on 4 June at Bendat Basketball Centre – the home of basketball in Western Australia. The regular season ended on Saturday 28 July. The finals began on Friday 3 August and ended on Friday 31 August, when the Lakeside Lightning defeated the Magic in the WSBL Grand Final. 2017–18 WNBL Season
The 2017–18 WNBL season was the 38th season of the competition since its establishment in 1981. The regular season began on 5 October 2017, with the Melbourne Boomers visiting the Dandenong Rangers. The Sydney Uni Flames were the defending champions but were defeated in the Semi Finals by Townsville. The Townsville Fire took home their third WNBL championship after defeating Melbourne, 2–0. This season sees the return to television, with Fox Sports broadcasting the WNBL for the first time since 2015. Spalding once again provided equipment including the official game ball, whilst iAthletic took over supplying team apparel. Melbourne Basketball Association
The Melbourne Basketball Association (MBA) is an administrative basketball association in Melbourne, Australia. The association is responsible for two divisions: the Melbourne Tigers Junior Basketball Club and the Melbourne Tigers senior men's and women's representative teams. Melbourne Tigers history The remnants of the Melbourne Basketball Association began in the 1920s with the birth of basketball in Victoria. 2016–17 WNBL Season
The 2016–17 WNBL season is the 37th season of competition since its establishment in 1981. The regular season begins on October 7, 2016 when the Sydney Uni Flames host the Perth Lynx and is scheduled to conclude on February 19, 2017. Townsville Fire were the two-time defending champions, but they were defeated by the Sydney Uni Flames in the Semifinals. The Flames would go on to take home their fourth WNBL title, their first in sixteen years, after defeating the Dandenong Rangers in the final. South East Australian Basketball League
The South East Australian Basketball League (SEABL) was an Australian semi-professional basketball league. The league comprised both a men's and women's competition and was run by the country's governing body, Basketball Australia. The league was one and the same with the Australian Basketball Association (ABA) from its inception in 1981 until 1993. With the inclusion of a North conference from Queensland in 1994, the history of the SEABL and ABA was split from one another for the first time. Kensington is a suburb of Adelaide, South Australia in the City of Norwood, Payneham & St Peters council area. Unlike the rest of the city, Kensington's streets are laid out diagonally.
