Chad Alexander Archer (born 27 May 1970) is an American-born Australian musician. Archer is best known for his violin work in the Fremantle based Alt country/rock band The Kill Devil Hills. Early life Archer was born in Seattle, Washington, US. He was raised in Darrington, Washington, and graduated from Darrington High School in 1988. Career As well as performing and recording three albums with Kill Devil Hills, Archer has performed and recorded with various Australian artists, most notably Abbe May"Hawaiian Disease by Abbe May and the Rockin Pneumonia reviewed"

and also with Felicity Groom. In 2010, Archer was named best instrumentalist at the WAMi Awards. In 2012 he performed at the Rock-It Festival.

The Kill Devil Hills
The Kill Devil Hills are an Australian acoustic, country-tinged rock band formed in 2003 in Fremantle by founding mainstays Brendan Humphries and Steve Joines. They have released four studio albums, ''Heathen Songs'' (August 2004), ''The Drought'' (October 2006), '' Man, You Should Explode'' (September 2009) and ''In on Under near Water'' (March 2016). History The Kill Devil Hills were formed in Fremantle in early 2003 by Brendan Humphries on lead vocals and guitars, Lachlan Gurr on mandolin and banjo, and Steve Joines on vocals and guitar. Initially the trio played "bushranger rock" and "cowpunk". Abbe Joanna May (born 19 July 1983) is an Australian singer-songwriter, musician and human rights campaigner. From 2002 she pursued her music career in Perth-based groups, The Fuzz, Abbe May and the Rockin' Pneumonia, and The Devil & Abbe May. Darrington, Washington
Darrington is a town in Snohomish County, Washington, United States. It is located in a North Cascades mountain valley formed by the Sauk and North Fork Stillaguamish rivers. Darrington is connected to nearby areas by State Route 530, which runs along the two rivers towards the city of Arlington, located to the west, and Rockport. It had a population of 1,347 at the 2010 census. Non-indigenous settlement in the area began in 1891 at the site of a Skagit campsite between the two rivers, near the traditional home of the Sauk-Suiattle tribe. Prospectors had arrived in the area during the 1880s while looking for gold and other minerals, but were quickly displaced by the logging industry that would come to dominate Darrington for much of the 20th century. The Northern Pacific Railway built a branch line to the town in 1901 and ushered in several years of growth.
