Alex Acker
Alexander Maurice Acker (born January 21, 1983) is an American-Italian professional basketball player who last played for Gallarate Basket of the Serie C Gold. He played college basketball for Pepperdine University. Acker was selected by the Detroit Pistons as the final pick of the 2005 NBA draft and spent two seasons in the National Basketball Association (NBA) with the Pistons and Los Angeles Clippers. College career Acker attended Pepperdine University, where he played college basketball with the Pepperdine Waves, from 2002 to 2005. Professional career NBA After college, Acker was selected by the Detroit Pistons, with the last pick in the second round (60th overall) of the 2005 NBA draft. 2005 NBA Draft
The 2005 NBA draft took place on June 28, 2005, in the Theatre at Madison Square Garden in New York City. In this draft, NBA teams took turns selecting amateur college basketball players and other first-time eligible players, such as players from high schools and non-North American leagues. The NBA announced that 49 college and high school players and 11 international players had filed as early-entry candidates for the draft.
