Alessia Gennari
Alessia Gennari (born 3 November 1991) is an Italian volleyball player, who plays as an outside hitter for the Italian club Unet E-Work Busto Arsizio and the Italian women's national volleyball team. At club level, she has won the Italian Championship, Italian Cup and CEV Cup with the clubs she played for. With the national team, she won the gold medal at the 2013 Mediterranean Games and competed in the women's tournament at the 2016 Summer Olympics. The Women's CEV Cup, formerly known as CEV Cup Winners' Cup (from 1972 to 2000) and CEV Top Teams Cup (from 2000 to 2007), is the second-top official competition for women's volleyball clubs of Europe and takes place every year. Volleyball is a team sport in which two teams of six players are separated by a net. Each team tries to score points by grounding a ball on the other team's court under organized rules. It has been a part of the official program of the Summer Olympic Games since Tokyo 1964. Beach volleyball was introduced to the programme at the Atlanta 1996. The adapted version of volleyball at the Summer Paralympic Games is sitting volleyball. The Girls' Youth European Volleyball Championship is a volleyball competition for girls' national teams with players under the age of 18 years, currently held biannually and organized by the European Volleyball Confederation, the volleyball federation for Europe. Until 2017 edition age limit was U17. As of the 2024 edition, the CEV will align the age limit for the men's and women's competitions to U18. 2018–19 Women's CEV Cup
} The 2018–19 Women's CEV Cup was the 47th edition of the European CEV Cup volleyball club tournament, the former "Top Teams Cup". Format The tournament is played on a knockout format, with 27 teams participating. Initially 20 teams were allocated direct vacancies to enter the competition, with another 7 teams joining the competition via Champions League qualification. On 29 June 2018, a drawing of lots in Luxembourg City, Luxembourg, determined the team's pairing for each match. Each team plays a home and an away match with result points awarded for each leg (3 points for 3–0 or 3–1 wins, 2 points for 3–2 win, 1 point for 2–3 loss). After two legs, the team with the most result points advances to the next round. In case the teams are tied after two legs, a is played immediately at the completion of the second leg.
