Alesha Widdall (born January 3, 1990) is an American woman Field hockey player. She hails from Whitney Point, New York and played as a goalkeeper. She was part of the United States women's national field hockey team The United States women's national field hockey team, represents the United States in international field hockey. Field hockey is a team sport structured in standard hockey format, in which each team plays with ten outfield players and a goalkeeper. Teams must drive a round hockey ball by hitting it with a hockey stick towards the rival team's shooting circle and then into the goal. The match is won by the team that scores the most goals. Matches are played on grass, watered turf, artificial turf, synthetic field, or indoor boarded surface. The stick is made of wood, carbon fibre, fibreglass, or a combination of carbon fibre and fibreglass in different quantities. The stick has two sides; one rounded and one flat; only the flat face of the stick is allowed to progress the ball. During play, goalkeepers are the only players allowed to touch the ball with any part of their body. A player's hand is considered part of the stick if holding the stick. Triangle is a town in Broome County, New York, United States. The population was 2,946 at the 2010 census. The town's primary settlement is the village of Whitney Point. Whitney Point is a village in Broome County, New York, United States. The population was 964 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Binghamton Metropolitan Statistical Area. The name comes from Thomas and William Whitney, early developers. The village is in the southwestern corner of the town of Triangle and is north of Binghamton. History The village area was first settled around 1791 and began to flourish after the arrival of the Whitney family around 1800. The Men's Pan American Cup is a men's international field hockey competition organised by the Pan American Hockey Federation. The winning team becomes the champion of the Americas and qualifies for the FIH Hockey World Cup. Argentina has won the tournament four times. Canada and Cuba have both won the tournament once. 2017 Women's Pan American Cup
The 2017 Women's Pan American Cup was the fifth edition of the Women's Pan American Cup, the quadrennial international women's field hockey championship of the Americas organised by the Pan American Hockey Federation. It was held between 5 and 13 August 2017 in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, United States, simultaneously with the men's tournament. The tournament doubled as the qualifier for two major international tournaments: the winner qualified directly to the 2018 World Cup, and the two teams not qualifying through the 2018 South American Games or the 2018 Central American and Caribbean Games qualified for the 2019 Pan American Games to be held in Lima, Peru. United States Women's National Field Hockey Team
The United States women's national field hockey team, represents the United States in international field hockey. The team is currently coached by Anthony Farry. It made its first international appearance in 1920 when a touring team visited England, coached by Constance M.K. Applebee. The team made several international appearances in the early 20th century, leading to the United States hosting the eighth International Federation of Women's Hockey Associations Tournament in 1963. Once the IFWHA merged with its counterpart on the men's side, the United States' first appearance at an FIH-sanctioned tournament was the 1983 Women's Hockey World Cup in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, where the Americans ended up in sixth place.
