Lubomirski Coat Of Arms
The House of Lubomirski is a Polish princely family. The Lubomirski family's coat of arms is the Drużyna coat of arms, which is similar to the Szreniawa coat of arms but without a cross. Origin and the coat of arms The Lubomirski family have been actors in the history of Poland since the 10th century. There are two theories regarding the family's origin. One, by Adam Boniecki, a Polish heraldist, assumes that there were two branches of the family. One settled at the Szreniawa River in Proszowice County while the other established itself in Szczyrzyc County. The time of this division of the family is not known, but most likely it was before the adoption of Christianity by Poland. Konstanty Wasyl Ostrogski (2 February 1526 – 13 or 23 February 1608, also known as ''Kostiantyn Vasyl Ostrozkyi'', uk, Костянтин-Василь Острозький, be, Канстантын Васіль Астрожскi, lt, Konstantinas Vasilijus Ostrogiškis) was a Ruthenian Orthodox magnate of the Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth, a prince, starost of Volodymyr, marshal of Volhynia and voivode of the Kiev Voivodeship. Ostrogski refused to help False Dmitriy I and supported Jan Zamoyski. The date of birth of Konstanty Wasyl Ostrogski is disputed. According to some historians he was born around 1524/1525. History The Branicki family, also called the " Griffin Clan" (''Gryfici''), was a magnate family, originating from Branice and Ruszcza in the Kraków Voivodeship. One of the most prominent members of the family was Field and Great Crown Hetman Jan Klemens Gryf Branicki. Anna Kostka (1575–1635)
Anna Kostka (1575–1635) was a Polish–Lithuanian noblewoman. Anna was the daughter of Jan Kostka and Zofia Odrowąż, and related to Saint Stanislas Kostka. She married Aleksander Ostrogski in 1592. She inherited the city of Jarosław as well as several other areas after her mother. After being widowed in 1603, she lived an independent life as the manager of her own and her children's dominions. She benefited the university of Jarosław, introduced the Benedictine order to the city, protected the Jesuits, commissioned several later famed art objects for the churches and became known for her charity toward the poor.
