Macedonian First League (basketball)
The Macedonian First League ( mk, Македонска прва лига, ''Makedonska prva liga'') is the top-tier basketball competition in the Republic of North Macedonia organized by the Basketball Federation of North Macedonia. Macedonian Republic League was transformed in to top division level Macedonian Basketball First League. After the transformation teams from the higher level federal Leagues (MZT and Rabotnički) joined the Macedonian First League. Teams Feniks 2010 and Angeli were promoted. KK Kožuv ( mk, КК Кожув) is a basketball club based in Gevgelija, North Macedonia. They currently play in the Macedonian First League. History The club was founded in 1955. Kozhuv's biggest success came in 2013, they made the Macedonian First League playoff final but ended up losing against MZT Skopje Aerodrom. Kozhuv reached the Macedonian Cup Final in 2015. KK EuroNickel 2005 ( mk, КК ЕуроНикел 2005) is a professional basketball club based in Kavadarci, North Macedonia named for the local ferronickel smelter operator EuroNickel. BC Gostivar ( mk, КК Гостивар) is a basketball club based in Gostivar, North Macedonia. In the past it was known as Nikol Fert for sponsorship reasons. History The team was established in 1954 under name KK Mavrovo. It changed its name numerous times over the year. KK Goteks, KK Vardar-Komerc, KK Gostivar and KK Nikol-Fert Gostivar. KK Kumanovo ( mk, КК Куманово) is a professional basketball club based in Kumanovo, North Macedonia. They currently play in the Macedonian First League. The club play their home matches at the Sports Hall Kumanovo. History Founded: 1946 Name: KK Kumanovo 2009 (09-). After the founding in 1946, the team was only able to achieve national successes in 1980. In the 90s Kumanovo team qualified for the Korac Cup 1998/99 , in which they lost a two-legged home game against KK Krka as well as two years later in the same competition against the BK Jambol.
