Aleksandar Jovanović (; born 17 December 1985) is a Serbian former footballer who played as a midfielder. Career During his career, Jovanović played almost exclusively in his hometown and represented OFK Niš, Sinđelić Niš, and most notably, Radnički Niš. He had two spells with Radnički between 2007 and 2019. In his second tenure at the club, Jovanović initially helped them return to the top flight after a decade (2012) and later secure a spot in European competitions after more than 30 years (2018). He also served as the team's captain, before leaving Radnički at the end of his contract in July 2019. Club career Rad Born in Niš, Jovanović started his professional career as a member of Rad, where he spent time from 2009 to 2014. In the meantime he was loaned to Palilulac Beograd and Palić. Aleksandar Jovanović ( sr-cyr, Александар Јовановић; born 1976) is a politician in Serbia. He has served in the Assembly of Vojvodina since 2016 as a member of the League of Social Democrats of Vojvodina (LSV). Early life and career Jovanović was born in Novi Sad, Vojvodina, in what was then the Socialist Republic of Serbia in the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia. He lived in Kuwait from 1987 with 1990 when his father, a medical doctor, was stationed in the country. The family returned to Novi Sad following Iraq's 1990 invasion of Kuwait. Jovanović holds a master's degree in Sociology from the University of Novi Sad.
