Aleks Danko
Aleks Danko (born 1950) is an Australian performance artist and sculptor. The son of Ukrainian migrants, he was born in Adelaide, and educated at the South Australian School of Art (University of South Australia) and the Hawthorn Institute of Education. He started exhibiting in Adelaide in 1970. The first exhibition at Llewellyn Galleries, Adelaide was titled UCK, a collaboration with the poet and artist Richard Tipping. Since then he has held over 45 solo exhibitions and his work has been selected for a number of national and international exhibitions and collections. Adelaide ( ) is the capital city of South Australia, the state's largest city and the fifth-most populous city in Australia. The University of South Australia (UniSA) is a public research university in the Australian state of South Australia. The National Gallery of Victoria, popularly known as the NGV, is an art museum in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. Founded in 1861, it is Australia's oldest and most visited art museum.
