Aleko Elisashvili
Aleksandre (Aleko) Elisashvili (born 17 January 1978) is a Georgian political figure who has served in the Parliament of Georgia since 2020. Elisashvili started his political career as an activist within a civic preservation group. He was an independent member of the Tbilisi city assembly until 2017, when he was an independent candidate in the Tbilisi Mayoral Elections. He took second place with 69,803 votes (17.4%). He is the chairman of the " Aleko Elisashvili – Citizens" party. In 2022, responding to the Russian invasion of Ukraine, he volunteered for the International Legion of Territorial Defense of Ukraine. Parliament Of Georgia
The Parliament of Georgia ( ka, საქართველოს პარლამენტი, tr) is the supreme national legislature of Georgia. It is a unicameral parliament, currently consisting of 150 members; of these, 120 are proportional representatives and 30 are elected through single-member district plurality system, representing their constituencies. According to the 2017 constitutional amendments, the Parliament will transfer to fully proportional representation in 2024. All members of the Parliament are elected for four years on the basis of universal human suffrage. Satellite dishes' affair On July 2, Maestro TV announced that one of its co-owners and its financial backer, Maka Asatiani, was planning significant investments for further development of the television channel. The 2017 Georgian local elections ( ka, საქართველოს ადგილობრივი თვითმმართველობის ორგანოების არჩევნები) were held on 21 October 2017 to elect the bodies of local government of Georgia: 2,058 members of representative councils (''sakrebulo'') and 64 mayors of municipalities. The Tbilisi Sakrebulo ( ka, თბილისის საკრებულო, tr) is a representative body in the city government of Tbilisi, Georgia. It is also known in English as the Tbilisi City Council or Tbilisi Assembly. Sakrebulos were established as the legislative branch of local government not only in Tbilisi, but throughout Georgia, by reforms instituted in 1991 as the country declared independence from the Soviet Union.
