Alejandro Doria
Alejandro Doria (November 1, 1936 – June 17, 2009) was a noted Argentine cinema and television director. Life and work Born in Buenos Aires in 1936, he first worked for Argentine television in 1965 as a writer for a local variety show, ''Show rambler''. He first directed professionally for ''Adorable Professor Aldao'', a 1968 romantic comedy series. Doria's contract to direct the 1969 season of a top-rated sitcom, ''Nuestra galleguita'' (''Our Galician Girl''), secured his career in Argentine /television, and he directed numerous series during the early 1970s and was a guest producer several times for ''Alta Comedia'', a comedy showcase. Doria first directed for the cinema in 1974. Mario Pantaleo
José Mario Pantaleo (August 1, 1915 · August 19, 1992) was an Italian priest who lived most of his life in Argentina. He is known as Padre Mario. He was well known for the healings of thousands as well as for the construction of a foundation in González Catán, Buenos Aires Province, which includes, among other things, free health care and education up to college level. Childhood and studies Jose Mario Pantaleo was born in Pistoia, Tuscany, to Ida Melani and Enrico Pantaleo. His father was a successful businessman, though much of the Pantaleo family's wealth was lost as a result of World War I. In February 1927, Mario, who already had endured a terrible bout of pneumonia that almost cost his life, and his family emigrated to Cordoba, Argentina, where Enrico's brother had business interests. AMIA Bombing
The AMIA bombing occurred on 18 July 1994 in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and targeted the Asociación Mutual Israelita Argentina (AMIA; ), a Jewish Community Centre. Executed as a suicidal attack, a bomb-laden van was driven into the AMIA building and subsequently detonated, killing 85 people and injuring over 300. To date, the bombing remains the deadliest terrorist attack in Argentine history. Argentina is home to a Jewish community of 230,000, making it the largest in Latin America and the sixth-largest in the world outside of Israel. Over the years, the AMIA bombing has been marked by accusations of cover-ups. ''Waiting for the Hearse'' (''Esperando la carroza'' in Spanish) is a 1985 Cinema of Argentina, Argentine comedy film directed by Alejandro Doria. It is considered a cult film. It opened on 6 May 1985. The story belongs to the ''criollo'' grotesque (costumbrismo) genre or black comedy. It's based on the play of the same name by Jacobo Langsner, premiered by the ''Comedia Nacional'' company in 1962.
