Alejandro Almendras
Alejandro Durano Almendras (27 February 1919 – 4 August 1995) was a Filipino politician who served as a Senator of the Philippines. He was also governor of the then united Davao province. Early life and education Almendras was born in Danao, Cebu on February 27, 1919 to Paulo Almendras and Elisea Mercado Durano. He finished his secondary education studies at the Cebu Provincial High in 1938. He attended the Far Eastern University taking up aeronautical engineering as his college degree but his studies was interrupted in 1941 due to World War II. After the war, Almendras went back to his studies and attended Mindanao Colleges in Davao City. World War II Almendras was enlisted with the Philippine Army Air Corps during the World War II. Philippine Veterans Bank, also known as PVB and Veterans Bank, is a commercial bank in the Philippines. The bank is owned by Philippine World War II war veterans and their families and caters to both corporate and retail financial markets. As part of its charter, PVB allocates 20% of its annual net income for the benefit of its shareholders. Davao Province
Davao, officially the Province of Davao ( es, Provincia de Dávao; ceb, Lalawigan sa Dabaw), was a province in the Philippines on the island of Mindanao. The old province is coterminous with the present-day Davao Region or Region XI. It was divided into three provinces of Davao del Norte, Davao Oriental, and Davao del Sur with the passage of Philippine Republic Act No. 4867 on May 8, 1967.
