Alberto Zapata
Alberto de Jesús Zapata Urriola (born 28 February 1979) is a retired professional Panamanian football forward who played for last time in Atlético Nacional. Club career A much-travelled striker or attacking midfielder, Zapata played alongside compatriot Roberto Brown for Honduran side Real España in 1999 and left fellow Hondurans Vida in December 1999 after claiming the club had not paid him his wages. In 2001, he played for Mexican second division side Tecos UAG, for whom he rattled in 16 goals in 20 games. He later joined Chorrillo from Tauro in his native Panama in summer 2002 and moved to Alianza in 2003, winning the Panamanian league's MVP award 2003 in the process. Víctor René Mendieta (footballer, Born 1982)
Víctor René Mendieta Sánchez (born 6 September 1982) is a football striker who currently plays in Panama for team Bagoso FC. Club career He started his career at Alianza, before moving abroad to play for Colombian side Deportes Quindío in December 2004. He returned to Panama after one season to play for San Francisco but made another move to Colombia when he signed for La Equidad. He then played for home side Árabe Unido before crossing borders again for a spell in Costa Rica with Santacruceña and later in Mexico with UANL Tigres Reserve team. In January 2011, Mendieta joined Tauro from Árabe Unido, then moved to Chorrillo and he was included in Plaza Amador's squad for the 2012 Apertura season. He joined Chepo in summer 2013. 2009 UNCAF Nations Cup
The UNCAF Nations Cup 2009 was the tenth edition of the UNCAF Nations Cup, the biennial association football, football (soccer) tournament for the CONCACAF-affiliated national teams of Central America. The first five places qualified for the 2009 CONCACAF Gold Cup. The event was going to take place in Panama City, Panama between January 22 and February 1, 2009, but the FEPAFUT, Panamanian FA announced that they would not host the event due to not having an adequate stadium available for the time period of the tournament. The alternative hosts were Honduras and Guatemala. Honduras submitted an official replacement bid on November 12, and after some consideration it was moved to Honduras. All games were played in Estadio Nacional Chelato Uclés, Estadio Tiburcio Carías Andino in Tegucigalpa. The tournament was sponsored by Digicel. The 2006 FIFA World Cup, also branded as Germany 2006, was the 18th FIFA World Cup, the quadrennial international football world championship tournament. It was held from 9 June to 9 July 2006 in Germany, which had won the right to host the event in July 2000. Teams representing 198 national football associations from all six populated continents participated in the qualification process which began in September 2003. Guatemala National Football Team
The Guatemala national football team ( es, Selección de fútbol de Guatemala) represents Guatemala in men's international football and is controlled by the ''Federación Nacional de Fútbol de Guatemala''. Founded in 1919, it has been affiliated to FIFA since 1946, and it is a member of CONCACAF.
