Alberto Cerreti
Alberto Cerreti (7 February 1939 – 7 September 2019) was an Italian politician. He served as Mayor of Sorano, Tuscany from 1972 to 1980. He was elected President of the Province of Grosseto on 7 September 1985, leading the provincial government until July 1990. Biography Born in Sorano in 1939, he graduated in geology and was a teacher and then principal at the local "Manfredo Vanni" institute. He entered politics in his municipality, where he was elected councilor for the Italian Socialist Party. From 1972 to 1980, he served as mayor of Sorano. Following the provincial elections of 1985, he was elected president of the Province of Grosseto, leading a government formed by the socialists and the Italian Communist Party. After his term ended, he ran in the 1990 Tuscan regional elections but was not elected. Returning to Sorano, he served again as a municipal councilor from 1990 to 1995. Sorano
Sorano is a town and ''comune'' in the province of Grosseto, southern Tuscany (Italy). It as an ancient medieval hill town hanging from a tuff stone over the Lente River. History Sorano was probably inhabited by Villanovan culture, but the first historical mentions are relative to the 3rd century BC, when it was an Etruscan city under the influence of the more populous nearby Sovana. Disappearing from history under the Roman domination, it is again known in 862 when a county was founded by Emperor Louis II, under the Aldobrandeschi suzerainty. The Aldobrandeschi were the most powerful feudataries of southern Tuscany for more than four centuries, disappearing in 1312 when Margherita, son of Ildibrandino, died without male heirs. The Italian Communist Party ( it, Partito Comunista Italiano, PCI) was a communist political party in Italy. The PCI was founded as ''Communist Party of Italy'' on 21 January 1921 in Livorno by seceding from the Italian Socialist Party (PSI). Amadeo Bordiga, Antonio Gramsci, and Nicola Bombacci led the split. Outlawed during the Fascist regime, the party played a major role in the Italian resistance movement. It changed its name in 1943 to PCI and became the second largest political party of Italy after World War II, attracting the support of about a third of the vote share during the 1970s. 1990 Tuscan Regional Election
The Tuscan regional election of 1990 took place on 6 and 7 May 1990. Electoral law Election was held under proportional representation with provincial constituencies where the largest remainder method with a Droop quota was used. To ensure more proportionality, remained votes and seats were transferred at regional level and calculated at-large.
