Alberto Cassano
Alberto Cassano (23 January 1935 – 12 July 2014) was an Argentine engineer and academic. He was a professor at the Universidad Nacional del Litoral during most of his career. He founded the program CONICET. He founded the Instituto de Desarrollo Tecnológico para la Industria QuÃmica (INTEC) and the Centro Regional de Investigación y Desarrollo (CERIDE). In 2006, he received the Houssay Career Award for outstanding research work. The Bernardo Houssay Award ( es, Premio Bernardo Houssay, links=no) is a distinction awarded by Argentina's Ministry of Science, Technology and Productive Innovation to honor outstanding work by scientists and researchers. The Ministry selects recipients annually through a jury of prominent scientists. Presented by the President of Argentina, it is one of the country's most prestigious prizes in the field of science and engineering. The award's name is a tribute to the doctor Bernardo Houssay, an Argentine Nobel Prize recipient.
