Albertirsa–Zakhidnoukrainska–Vinnytsia Powerline
The Albertirsa–Zakhidnoukrainska–Vinnytsia powerline is a power transmission line between Ukraine and Hungary. It is a part of the former "Mir" transmission system between the Soviet Union and Comecon countries. As of today, it is the only 750 kV-powerline in Hungary and one of the few powerlines operated with this voltage in the European Union. History On 28 February 1974, the USSR, Bulgaria, Hungary, GDR, Poland and Czechoslovakia signed a cooperation agreement on construction of the 750 kV-line between Vinnytsia and Albertirsa, and substations Vinnytsia, Zakhidnoukrainska and Albertirsa. Construction started in 1975 and it went in service in 1979. The Vetrino–Isaccea–Yuzhnoukrainsk powerline is the third 750 kilovolts powerline running from Ukraine to the European Union. History Construction of a 750 kV powerline from Ukraine through Romania to Bulgaria was agreed on together with construction of the South Ukraine Nuclear Power Plant. Rzeszów–Khmelnytskyi Powerline
The Rzeszów–Khmelnytskyi powerline is an electrical power transmission line between Ukraine and Poland. It is the only 750 kV-powerline in Poland and one of the few of it in the European Union of this type. History The decision to build this powerline was made in 1977 and it went in operation in 1985. The line went out of service after Poland joined the synchronous grid of Continental Europe (UCTE). A dead-end tower (also anchor tower, anchor pylon) is a fully self-supporting structure used in construction of overhead power lines. A dead-end transmission tower uses horizontal strain insulators at the end of conductors. Suspension Tower
In an electric power transmission line, a suspension tower is where the conductors are simply suspended from the tower, the mechanical tension being the same on each side. In this case, the tower is supposed to carry a downward force, and a lateral force, but not a longitudinal force.
