The Alberta Electoral Boundary Re-distribution, 2010 was a re-distribution of the boundaries of 87 Alberta electoral districts which elect a single member to the Legislative Assembly of Alberta. The ''Electoral Boundaries Commission Act'' requires the Legislative Assembly to create a Electoral Boundaries Commission to review and provide recommendations for provincial representation in Alberta. The Current electoral laws in Alberta fix the number of seats in the Legislative Assembly of Alberta at 87. The ''2009/2010 Alberta Electoral Boundaries Commission'' was established on July 31, 2009, and was chaired by Justice J. M. Walter and members included Keith Archer, Peter Dobbie, Brian Evans and Allyson Jeffs. The Final Report by the commission with recommendations was submitted to the legislature on June 24, 2010. Alberta
Alberta ( ) is one of the thirteen provinces and territories of Canada. It is part of Western Canada and is one of the three prairie provinces. Calgary-Currie is a provincial electoral district in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. It was created in 1971 and is mandated to return a single member to the Legislative Assembly of Alberta using the first past the post method of voting. The district is currently represented by Nicholas Milliken, a member of the United Conservative Party who was elected in the 2019 Alberta general election. History The Calgary-Currie electoral district was created in the 1971 boundary redistribution from parts of Calgary Glenmore and Calgary West. The 2010 boundary redistribution saw the riding significantly changed. The Electoral Boundary Commission originally tried to abolish the riding but several complaints were submitted to the Commission. Calgary-Buffalo
Calgary-Buffalo is a current provincial electoral district in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The district is one of 87 districts mandated to return a single member (MLA) to the Legislative Assembly of Alberta using the first past the post method of voting. Calgary-Buffalo is currently represented by NDP MLA Joe Ceci. The riding comprises primarily the downtown core of the city of Calgary. The riding has broad demographic diversity, and comprises the most transient population in Alberta. The riding contains a mix of corporate office towers, luxury apartment buildings, Chinatown in the north part of the riding and lower income apartments in the south along the Beltline community. Calgary-Bow
Calgary-Bow is a provincial electoral district in the city of Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The district is one of 87 districts mandated to return a single member (MLA) to the Legislative Assembly of Alberta using the first past the post method of voting. The electoral district has been a stronghold for right leaning parties. Social Credit briefly held the district from 1971 to 1975 and the Progressive Conservatives have held the district uninterrupted until the 2015 provincial election, when the seat was won by NDP candidate Deborah Drever.
