Albert Tom
Albert Tom is a former member of the Arizona House of Representatives from 2005 through 2009. He was first elected to the House in November 2004, and was re-elected in 2006. He lost in the Democratic primary in 2008 to fellow incumbent Thomas Chabin and Christopher Deschene, both of whom went on to win in the general election. He made another attempt to regain his seat in the 2010 election, but again lost in the Democrat primary, this time to Tom Chabin and Albert Hale. Arizona 2nd Legislative District
Arizona's 2nd Legislative District is one of 30 in the state, consisting of all of Santa Cruz County, along with a section of Pima County. As of 2020 there are 57 precincts in the district, 33 in Pima and 24 in Santa Cruz, with a total registered voter population of 119,080. The district has an overall population of 211,905. Sylvia Laughter
Sylvia Laughter ( – October 15, 2022) was an American politician who was a member of the Arizona House of Representatives from January 1999 until January 2005. She was the first Navajo woman to serve in the Arizona legislature, as well as the first and only politically independent legislator to serve in the state legislature since Arizona's statehood in 1912. Biography Laughter was first elected to the House in November 1998 as a Democrat, representing District 3. She was re-elected in 2000, and again after redistricting in 2002, representing District 2. In February 2003, she changed her party affiliation from Democrat to Independent. She ran for re-election in the November 2004 election but was defeated by Democrats Ann Kirkpatrick and Albert Tom. Christopher L. Clark Deschene is an American politician, attorney, and energy development expert. A member of the Navajo Nation, Deschene was the Democratic Party's candidate for Secretary of State in Arizona in 2010, and served as a Department of Energy official in the Barack Obama Administration. Biography Deschene was born in California, but moved with his parents, a homemaker from Dennehotso, Arizona and a welder from Tuba City, Arizona. Deschene spent his youth in LeChee, Arizona and attended high school in Page, Arizona. Chambers is an unincorporated community in Apache County, Arizona, United States. Chambers is located at the junction of Interstate 40 and U.S. Route 191, northeast of Holbrook. Albert Hale
Albert A. Hale (March 13, 1950 – February 2, 2021) was an American attorney and politician. A member of the Democratic Party, he served in the Arizona Senate from 2004 to 2011 and in the Arizona House of Representatives from 2011 to 2017. A member of the Navajo Nation, Hale was elected as the tribe's president in 1994. He served until 1998, when he resigned to avoid facing prosecution for 50 felonies and misdemeanors related to theft and bribery.
