Albert Gayton
Albert Gayton (December 30, 1840 – March 7, 1923) was a merchant and political figure in Nova Scotia, Canada. He represented Yarmouth County in the Nova Scotia House of Assembly from 1871 to 1890 as a Liberal member. He was born in Argyle, Nova Scotia, the son of James Gayton and Miriam Hamilton. In 1862, he married Helen Hamilton. He was Commissioner of Public Works and Mines for the province from 1877 to 1878 and was Commissioner of Mines in 1882 to 1884. Gayton also served as chairman of the Board of Public Charities for Nova Scotia. Argyle, officially named the Municipality of the District of Argyle, is a district municipality in Yarmouth County, Nova Scotia. Statistics Canada classifies the district municipality as a municipal district. The district municipality occupies the eastern portion of the county and is one of three municipal units - the other two being the Town of Yarmouth and the Municipality of the District of Yarmouth. Yarmouth is a town in southwestern Nova Scotia, Canada. A port town, industries include fishing, and tourism. It is the terminus of a ferry service to Bar Harbor, Maine, run by Bay Ferries. Yarmouth is a provincial electoral district in Nova Scotia, Canada, that elects one member of the Nova Scotia House of Assembly. It consists of the Municipality of the District of Yarmouth and the town of Yarmouth. From 1867 to 1981, the district included all of Yarmouth County and for most of that time elected two members. Forman Hatfield
Cornelius Forman Hatfield (December 27, 1828 – June 13, 1910) was a merchant, shipbuilder, ship owner and political figure in Nova Scotia, Canada. He represented Yarmouth County in the Nova Scotia House of Assembly from 1890 to 1894 as a Liberal member. He was born in Tusket, Nova Scotia, the son of Captain James Hatfield and Elizabeth Lent, the daughter of James Lent. Hatfield was married three times: first to Deborah Hatfield, then to Sarah Bowlby in 1844 and finally to Marion Anderson. Forman owned general stores at Tusket and Tusket Wedge. He was a justice of the peace from 1872 to 1910 and served on the municipal council for Argyle township from 1902 to 1910, serving as warden from 1907 to 1910. He also served as coroner. He died in Tusket at the age of 81.
