Albert Canyon
Albert Canyon is a railway point in the West Kootenay region of southeastern British Columbia. The community was immediately east of the mouth of Albert Creek on the south shore of the Illecillewaet River. That settlement no longer exists, but the Canyon Hot Springs Resort borders to its north. On British Columbia Highway 1, BC Highway 1, the locality is by road about northeast of Revelstoke, British Columbia, Revelstoke and southwest of Glacier, British Columbia, Glacier. Explorers In 1865, the government dispatched Walter Moberly (engineer), Walter Moberly to explore from Kamloops to the Canadian Rockies. He was the first European to penetrate the valley of the Illecillewaet, including Albert Canyon. However, the gorge, east of the station, was named after Albert Rogers, who accompanied his uncle, A. Rogers Pass is a high mountain pass through the Selkirk Mountains of British Columbia, but the term also includes the approaches used by the Canadian Pacific Railway (CP) and the Trans-Canada Highway. A defect detector is a device used on railroads to detect axle and signal problems in passing trains. The detectors are normally integrated into the tracks and often include sensors to detect several different kinds of problems that could occur. Mount Macdonald Tunnel
The Mount Macdonald Tunnel is in southeastern British Columbia, on the Revelstoke–Donald segment. This single-track tunnel, which carries the Canadian Pacific Railway (CP) main line under Mount Macdonald in the Selkirk Mountains, handles most westbound traffic, whereas the Connaught Tunnel handles mostly eastbound.
