Albert Cadwell
Albert Cadwell (1 November 1900 – 13 July 1944) was an English footballer who played for West Ham United as a left-half. Cadwell was born in Edmonton, London, and joined West Ham from Nunhead during the 1923-24 season, the east London club's first season in Division One. He played his first game for West Ham against Chelsea on 20 October 1923. Succeeding Jack Tresadern as first choice left-half, he made 297 league and cup appearances for the club between 1923 and 1933. His last game was against Charlton Athletic on 8 April 1933. The Football League XI
The English Football League XI was a representative side of the Football League. The team regularly played against the Scottish Football League XI and other national league select teams between 1891 and 1976. For a long period the annual fixture between the English and Scottish leagues was only second in importance to the matches between the two national teams. The fixture declined in importance, however, particularly after regular European club competition was instituted in the 1950s. Jack Tresadern
John Tresadern (26 September 1890 – 26 December 1959) was an English professional footballer and football manager. He played twice for the England national side. Playing career Tresadern, a left-half, began his career with non-league Wanstead, moving on to Southend United and then Barking Town before joining West Ham United in July 1913. He was part of the West Ham side elected to the Football League in 1919 and became a regular in their league side. Tresadern made his England debut in April 1923, in the 2–2 Home International draw with Scotland, although he was not pleased with his performance. "I was the best player Scotland had on the field", he said. He was part of the West Ham side that lost to Bolton Wanderers in the first ever FA Cup final to be held at Wembley.
